If i didnt have my job interview today, i would so be chasing , we had it all planned to chase in the areas these showers/storms have developed/hit!

good luck with your interview :)

I am watching that line of rain/storms/cloud with interest, mainly because i'm due out the door in a mo for the school run and also because if it thunders I would be correct in my first post =)

Some really big convective clouds to the northwest of London, look properly stormy!

Quite an odd look to the radar. I was expecting storms to fire in the CAPE available across Devon and Dorset and move into Somerset from there. Seems to be 50-100 miles out. Not much shower activity following either.

Cool sea breeze flowing generally from the south (lack of convergence) over Devon/Dorset going on latest obs likely inhibiting CAPE. Showers/storms north of London firing along the CZ there. Though potential still exists for SW/S.

Good to see a bit of development to our SW....with temperature and cape increasing overhead

Keeps things interesting for later on

Some showers developing over Devon now, charging camera and Ipad in case I head out soon for the evening if the risk still exists this far south.

The storms are passing me by, although i can see how dark the clouds are, the wind is getting up and the edge is passing over making it darker. ah well I was almost right with saying i would get a storm today:wallbash:

well it's looks like the BBC graphics this morning were right well done them and ther latest forecast how this line moving East Anglia so thos in those areas might see some otherwise I'm not sure temps for me only 12 degress so not sure how much more I'll get out of that of course saying latest radar has something just to my south not sure if I'm in firing line but I suspect I'll just miss it

Popping up all over the place south of say Daventry, all seem tiny, or at least tiny areas of convection.... Wonder if any will stray as far north as Leicester??

Thoughts people?

I would be surprised if they did

Fairly scattered cumulus clouds around now. First picture was from earlier, second picture is the current conditions.

We're all lighting up beautifully this afternoon, thought I have nothing here in Limousin as of yet and I'm still working in the garden. Enjoy the UK storms, hopefully a good start to the season!

North Devon lighting up now on Blitzortung. Looks quite active. Could be the start of a new convergence zone which at least the Arpege model for example seems to have developing around N Devon and also S Wales/W Midlands. Could be more developing on this axis within the next couple of hours rather than the W-E trajectory seen so far. Could be wrong though!

Definitely a shower to my West, however radar not picked this up yet, definitely rain seems to be evaporating before it hits the ground.

EDIT: Light shower detected on radar, expect these to develop.

At Huntingdon right now. Convergence front has fragmented earlier, but very dark to the SW heading straight for here, looks like it may drop a bolt if it holds out and develops further.

Similar skies here in Aztec West. Fingers crossed for something!

Btw, do you live in a Taylor Wimpey development by any chance?
