Thermometer here now recording - 5 which is what I have seen early morning recently tonight and tomorrow night really will be cold..

Remember the coldest part of the night is just before sunrise so a long way to go yet.. Will we get into negative double digits somewhere..

I think Benson will take it tonight. Maybe -10. Farnborough might lose it's crown after consecutive coldest nights

I think you're right.  As long as no clouds roll in, -10 should be achieved somewhere in our region. I'm at -4.3 currently.

What a gorgeous day but felt so cold. The ground is frozen solid here by day too, if only we could get some snow now hehe.

-2.3 at 22.17, already at Battersea, London. This morning at 0730 it was -2.8, that was the coldest temperature this winter, and provided there is no cloud moving in,this morning is well under way to being the coldest, this winter.

Gender Male, Location Battersea, London.

I understand it is possible to build a snow cannon using an air compressor, power washer and a nozzle and then all you need is low temps and low wet bulb humidity. Anyone want to give it a go?

Yes make the most of it in the SE as it Looks to me that the Atlantic wakes with a vengeance going by the latest GFS runs. Bet the wind and cold rain materialises unlike the countless 'potential' of snow shown on the charts all winter ....

Don't think we got there maybe a few frost hollows got down to - 10 but Farnborough again taking the coldest at - 8/-9 which again is remarkable

I haven't left the freezer for over a week now, not seen a cloud for about week and today follows..

All change though now slowly but it will change, freezing fog will move in tonight in some places and if it lingers in places doubt they will go above freezing tomorrow..

-7 here with 2-3" thick ice on lakes

Getting a bit misty, bright sunrise half hour ago, hopefully a nice sunny day later on

Are you near any towns? Out in Reigate I thought it would be very cold last night.

Although I am about 3 miles from any big town. My nearest small town is Egham at around 2 miles (30-40 minute walk)

I get the temperatures from the weather station at Reigate Grammar School which is in the centre of Reigate - I wouldn't have thought that there is a huge urban heat effect on that weather station...
