Before the storm hit. Does anyone know what the projected wind gusts were for Connaught?  I suspect not 97 mph

I believe they were around 60mph, I haven’t seen any model prediction for the wind speeds we’ve just seen over Ireland.

Red warning to come?

they tend not to issue those overnight. It's not within rush hour and most people will be asleep, so not major widespread impacts, even though it looks like it could be horrible across the Pennines tonight.  The Amber covers advice to people who can change their plans. 60 Flood warnings too. https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/flood

Wind really picked up in the Castlereagh Hills, wasn't expecting this. Bins being emptied tomorrow and debris already all over the place.

After the squally rain bands yesterday evening it's been very calm here today... Since about 15.00 we've had drizzle... And a lot of drizzle at that!

But I've just felt the first strong gust of wind... Here comes Eleanor!. ... I think? :unknw:

EDIT: The wind is starting to pick up now!

Pretty horrific here in Ireland and this is only the start of it. Trees reported down in quite a few areas. 3 planes have done a go around in Belfast airports due to dangerous cross winds
