Some decent towers going up north and east of Doncaster now and clouds darkening that way.  Still very warm and breezy here.

I wouldn't go to the coast. There's a strong onshore breeze which will kill off anything thundery guaranteed. We need the wind to switch otherwise it'll just rain and that's it.

Been much cooler in Bridlington today , compared to yesterday when it hit 26.6c.

Wind seems to have come off the sea so far today and as a result it has stayed about 20c so far. Clouds moving from west to east though.

Brewed some stuff for places to the north east of us.

The energy on the band to the west of us won't reach here plus lightning seems to have died away on it now.

Could well be a dry evening here with showers to the south east of us moving away.

Yeah it's quite an active cell, hard to see much structure from my vantage point. Passing more to my north.

Convection really started about over me, moving almost due north, no rain or thunder/lightning sat in garden

I'm just too far SW unfortunately. Chucked it down really heavy for a few mins but no thunder but it's now a decent storm looking to my NE. 

Shame but as long as it's cooler tonight I'll be happy!!

A rapid drop in temperature from 27C to 23C wasn't expecting that. Not that I'm complaining.

Last year was shockingly poor for thunderstorms and this year is following suit.

Still dry in Wakefield, no rain yet, but the temperature is dropping sharply, down 6°C in the last hour.

There's the sudden change of wind direction ahead of the front. It's shot up to 28.7C.

Finally caught some action, epic thunder and heavy rain, breeze picked up noticeably, very refreshing tbh, currently sat in my Sis summer house watching things unfold

Yay, same here, a lovely storm, T&L and very heavy rain.
I opened the door and let a cool mist spray of water fall over me.

Update :  And already it has passed over and the sun returns.
Just a nice refresher of rain .
