The radar is not correctly displaying intensity, the north of the band is less than a drizzle but is being shown as the heavier sector.

Turned to sloppy snow now and settling and freezing immediately on colder surfaces - e.g. paths and cars but not salted roads. I'm only at 25m.

Sleety rain at low levels in Newbald. Snow on top towards High Hunsley

A few fine flakes blowing in the air. Temp climbed to 0.9c from -0.6c in the last hour or so, though dew point still -1c. Don't think I'll bother staying up!

0.6c so potentially marginal but the ground is thankfully frozen from earlier.

Precipitation approaching Lincoln from the north, not sure if it will largely fizzle out before it gets here or, if it doesn't, what type of precipitation it will be. But it's got very cold and frosty out there, -2.1C minimum at the weather station at the University, but now creeping back upwards as the cloudier skies move in from the north.

Well, it looks to be snowing all over and to low levels inland. The snow front looks like it is now dropping on NE Manchester and the northern Peak District if radar is correct, which it largely seems to have been. It's even snowing a little in Northern Norfolk now. I wonder how far south it will get before it fizzles out.  There's a clear couple of hours behind the front where temperatures look to drop back below freezing and then the showers have started coming ashore behind that. Like further north, these look to be starting to organise into rather rough streamers. So some will get further snow soon and some won't.

That heavy band produced some very large snowflakes, a little bit more than a dusting now on the cars and grass.

Getting a sugar coating and settling staight away,...first snow of the season,...yay!

The system seems to have stalled over us and started to tilt towards the west. This would be a good starter for some showers to come inland from the coast.
