Nice covering, you must live higher up in Cumbria than some of the other cumbrians in here who haven't reported much.  Had a brief hail shower & a few floating flakes but most of the promising stuff is further north and it seems to be staying that way.  At least it will freeze tonight....probably quite icy in some areas.

You'd think at some point it will track south west. It might just fizzle out and drift south I guess. Who knows at this point, I don't think any model forecasted it well.

I am at 435feet so not that high, I think it was more luck as the Penrith area seemed in the firing line last night. Amazingly Shap at 1000 feet only had 4cms.

Temperature has dropped to freezing now on the way to a severe frost tonight. Very little thaw of lying snow even in the trees.

It was definitely snowing here at 4:20am when I had a peek out the window but it was just melting on the pavement/road and only just sticking to the grass but it's all gone now

Still snow here at mo even at 2.7C , It may as well rain though as the snow that's falling is just disintegrating into the concrete.
