What a stunning day! Best winter's day for quite some time! Had a great sledging session this morning. Loads of parents and kids out having fun!

Today so far we've hit a 'high' of -0.9C so almost certainly heading for an ice day.

Yes, official ice day it is I think!   0.9c/-4.4c/1022.7mb. 

Not getting too hung up on future forecasts just yet as I am sure they will change owing to current model uncertainty ?

Max here of 1 today, already heading back down. Snow not going anywhere yet. Rare enough for here to get snow, let alone it staying. lovely pictures everyone

Missed being an ice day by a bawhair's width! Maxed out at 0.6deg.C at 14:19.

Temperature now -5.2deg.C dropping like a stone, humidity 89%, no wind, pressure 1026.5hPa rising slowly, no further snaw since last night and the dew point is now at -7deg.C.

Lovely bright winters afternoon here with a max of around 0C. Currently -1.6C. Might just have scraped an ice day apart from it being +1.0C at midnight last night.

Went for a stroll up the hill a bit. Nice light through the trees as the sun began to go down.

A sprinkling to wake up to, already a couple below freezing. Shame it’s to end but been a good spell of cold weather. 
2 week duration, fantastic sunny days, minimal thaw (helped by the weak sun) and snow has fallen in almost all corners of the country (pretty rare). 

Haven’t read the MOD yet but seems like we’re in the race for deeper cold...

Got the Merrick (843m asl) ticked off today as per below: BITTER cold at the top due to a keen wind. Windchill must have been -15c, was painful

Lovely views of Ailsa Craig (3rd from bottom), Isle of man, Southern uplands, the hills of Arran etc. Not sure how far North could be seen, certainly up other hills I’m certain i’ve seen the Ochils. In summer on the Donalds beside the Grey Mare’s tail I saw Arthur’s seat etc. The prints in the snow in the 3rd pic (from top) are that of Deer - they roam quite freely in the Galloway forest.

Another stunning day temperature in the shade hovering around minus 4 and on weather station -2.  Great to see widespread snow pics.

Well, another cracker. Daytime max of -5.2C, 8.30am minimum of -6.2C. Ice day and road temperatures must be mental - on B Road to BIggar, covered in snow, car saying -15C.

4 cm extra last night. Squeak squeak:

Aye, I had to sit in the car for 20 mins before I could get into gear to go down to Broughton village store at 5pm. Frozen solid!

Great wee day until the tailbone decided time was up for me - wrong choice of footwear didn't help, canny blame the snow but will sure blame my footwear!

Also, this is on twitter showing temperatures earlier!! STV news at 6.30 had Glasgow down for low of -5 and Lanark at -9 - surely not low enough by Met Office?

Now that's what I call a winter's day.

Overnight we got this amount of snow...

Not the slushy rubbish, proper hardcore alpine fluff.

Overnight low was -3c; daytime max of 0.7c and already down to -3.1c.  A bit of a breeze around lunchtime but calm conditions now.

Oodles of sunshine during the day to appreciate the scenery...

Bennachie resplendent in a coat of white...

Even a red kite paid a visit..

Not that the rabble at the bird feeder seemed to care...

Glorious winters day. Nice to see the snow hanging on the trees as opposed to melting not long after falling. Walked down to Shawlands for a cold doorstep visit with my sister. 

Great photos from everyone today. Hope there a few more days like this before spring kicks in!

Thanks! It was taken from my bedroom window. We can see quite a way north. Took this one of mountains beyond Ben Lomond (to the right of it) but not sure which one it is. Any ideas?
