See that 61cm of snow that you were talking about earlier. Did that include tonight’s snow or is this an extra bonus?

Nevermind a Brucey Bonus this is a wee Blighty bonus

Haha, we need to get Blighty on for a guest appearance  tomorrow.

Disclaimer: If he has changed his forecast he needn’t bother though..

I thought Milltimber might be enough inland to fall as snow - clearly not!

It’s getting a bit sleety now, we have hope!

-0.3c / -1c currently and still coming down! Probably 2 inches or so

Same down here as well. At least an inch now. Expecting this to last for a good 3-4 more hours as well. Quite the event!

I think it's safe to say this event has over performed tonight. Look at that flow of moisture from that digging low pressure system south of Iceland. It's just feeding right into this band that's nearly stationary over the central belt.

This mini fire hose won't shut off for at least a few hours. Ironically, I wonder if tonight might end up being the bigger snowfall event.

I am really having a think about this now. Could tonight be the main event? This band is in prime position and isn't moving. And it's being fed plenty of moisture. Tomorrows "Christoph" is going to be a deepening low pressure system that will likely drag a lot of precipitation eastward as it moves across the UK.

Sometimes these precursor events end up being the main event.

I'm sure she just said 'several hundred millimetres' of ppn.  Sounds a bit extreme.

-3C and a clear sky, which is possibly not what we'll have tomorrow evening.

I hope not!
101 and Blighty promised at least 61cm.

It is amazing that although the models have come on so much in terms of accuracy that even 12 hours out from weather events like this and potentially tomorrow, there is still so much confusion involved.

Still +3c out here on the Fife Riviera with a light drizzle falling. Confident that we’ll avoid all wintry nastiness over the next 48 hours and retain our well-earned street rep for not tolerating snow in any form.

Earlier tonight it did in fact start to sleet here in the Borders, and the air temperature dropped to 0.5C, but it didn't last long, and the temperature is now 1.6C / 0.7C and it's just wet, lots and lots of wet.
