Well, it’s nice of it to try. Going to take something special to get it as far east as I am though!

Snow flurry left a slight dusting on ground now just got to see if any more can make it into west country..

Typical. Evidently they've been watching what potentially snowy precipitation does around here.

But the above outbreak didn’t get the memo - light snow falling at -0.8C would give a dusting taking this to a Level 2 Winter.

I'm still sceptical, but you never know...

Woke up to a light snow shower. Too light for my camera to pick up.

Key part ; AND ICE. Meaning ice after sleet or rain rather than definitely snow.

Well, I've been out and about and either the snow dome over Dorset worked really well overnight OR the warning was incorrect. I suspect the later as it's as dry as a bone out there, currently -0.7°C  after an overnight low of  -3.2°C at: 01:14, RH96%

Quite large flakes flurrying down and settling on frosty surfaces.

It should be noted that this is the 8th day of 2021 and the 5th with snow falling.

How depressing, cold enough for snow and nothing on the radar. A low range cold spell for us. Just a drain on my heating but not cold enough for snow! Bring back the double digits

A larry letdown here. For 2 consecutive days my app forecast was showing snow showers on and off all day, but all it shows now is cloud. Cant wait for the milder stuff to arrive next week.

I think those crazy fools in the Mad thread call it "a reset".

And yep, agree about the heating; costs have likely gone thru the roof this last 10 days in Chez BB!

We've had snow in the Bridport area albeit a light and patchy covering.

Where is this snow meant to be coming from? There’s nothing of note on the radar? Is it from up north?

Had light rain last night at 11pm with a temp of -1.3C.. then radar suggests another shower at 4:15am at -0.5C.   Close examination of the glaze on the cars suggests it could have been sleety, but it had the same effect.
Webcams show it was snow on Dartmoor and the Blackdown Hills, so there must have been a mild enough layer between that elevation, and the valley inversion.

Highest temp all night 0.2C. Currently mostly cloudy and -0.1C.

Still a bit of frost/frozen ground left from yesterday.. with an extra crunch to it now.

Yes if it makes it as far as the south!
