Very close to a double digit night, with a low of 9.8°C at: 00:00, currently 10.9°C , and damp after overnight rainfall of 5.8 mm, currently overcast and light breeze in from the WSW. Going to refrain from commenting on the weekend to avoid bun fights, here's the beachcam view this morning..

Good Morning All, well its very mild this morning, from a worry of icy roads on Monday to it feeling rather balmy today. I love the wild fluctuations of a British winter.

GFS Parallel 6z has it as  snow for lots of the south, whereas the GFS operational 6z  has it as rain, hopefully cold air will dig in and we get good alignment, I wouldn't like to call it yet but further North in our region the better at moment.

I was expecting sunshine this morning?! It's overcast, damp and drizzly, again. Temp 11.4°C

I've got something to cheer pantz up instead

MetO Saturday warnings have just been updated/upgraded.

Just need a few more little upgrades to involve more of our region. MetO still uncertain where the snow line will be:

"An area of rain pushing in from the southwest through the early morning will readily turn to snow in places as it encounters colder air. There remains a good deal of uncertainty in how far north the rain and snow will get, before the band stalls and starts to move south again as it eases. 3-7 cm of snow is possible to low levels."

Fingers crossed. They do tend to shift southwards but knowing our lucky it won't.

changing the subject a little from my previous post. Being in the extreme north of our area as things stand we are just about in the firing line for Saturday I think much further south and its going to be a rain event again.

From a total IMBY point of view we have seen snow quite often this year certainly compared to recent years, statistically we must all be due a good nation wide event.

Ooof I’m about 15 miles north of the southern snow line on that! What’s happening in between the snow area and the rain area?

Hope the whole thing drops 150 miles south!

ECM 6z is a little further south.

Not surprised. How many times have we seen it correct further south as we get closer. I’d rather have the weather warning not featuring much of our region today and it be widened to include more of the region tomorrow than it go the other way. We’ve seen that before as well.

Is Bristol now in the snow zone?

It's so close that some parts of Bristol are in the snow zone and others aren't. Gonna be a nowcast like always... but promising when models are trending south. The ICON 12z is further south too.

And still got a few days for it to shift south!
