Variable old day, lurching from bright sunny spells to downright gloomy and drizzly then repeat. 11c breached for the first time since 23rd December.

This will be a good test for the GFS-P. Second run I think that it’s stuck to its guns and kept the snowfall to the south. We can but hope.

I would be interested to know how you get on with that.

Early impressions are excellent. Camera is insane, especially the 10x optical zoom.

I've noticed that the para tends to have a lot more ppn in general than the GFS Op, regardless of synoptics. Hope it's right.

ECM is further South! Hopefully we can all get in on the snow action.

You look well set for this weekend Jay. Wales looks in for an absolute pasting according to the latest ECM run.

I'm just under 100m in Caerphilly so should fair better than I used to in Cardiff. I'm still not confident of the snow though until I see it fall.

Looks decent for you!

It does... we kind of did alright last weekend here, especially in the hills. I was putting a fence up in Minchinhampton (quite high up) on Tuesday that still had 3 inches of snow on the grass first thing in the morning..

That is so close to me! Looking good anyway though for those who get it ❄️

This would be like early December 2017 when I could see the snowline a few miles from my house.

Thoroughly rank out there at the moment. Warm too at 10C.

Fingers crosses for corrections south of this weekend’s snow.

It may well move south a bit as well...there is talk of it stalling earlier than last weekends and moving south again. I guess that’s why the amounts are quite high in certain areas at the moment. ‘Course it could rain in the whole region!

Euro4 has it a little further South. I don’t hear much about this model these days so assume it’s not taken seriously anymore.

I think perhaps because it’s not favourable for the midlands lol. This year is the winter of the midlands northwards so far.

The sooner this current weather set up ends the better. Signs are that is going to happen next month.

Just been posted in MOD thread UKV is a little further South as well.

Sorry if you’ve not had any snow, really, but to be fair I’m in the south west and I’ve had 4 days of falling and lying snow (3 were a bit crap admittedly), and more frosts than last winter. Not to mention 2 thunder events since mid December, hailstorms and crazy monsoon rain leading to flash flooding. And were only really halfway through winter....

This has been the most interesting winter weather wise for over a decade for me, and I don’t live in the Midlands!

Looks like currently my location will narrowly miss out this weekend for snow with places further to the north and towards London more in the game.  A bit like last Sunday in fact, which would be frustrating!  Still, time for things to change and exact positioning not nailed yet.
