Waiting on that band of precipitation across the Midlands to head its way towards our region. A lot of the high res models were leaning away from this band being wintry for our region, however reports in the Midlands seem to contradict that so will have to wait and see. From what I can see the obs suggest most places with dewpoints at or just below freezing so fingers crossed for a few flakes!

Radar suggests heavy band of sleet, but reality is rain. Turned a bit blustery with it too.

I won't bother looking out the window then!

It's really nice to hear the some entertainment outside tonight. Feels like it's been boring forever.

Apparently it’s 59mph in Exeter according to Xc weather, it’s been barely half that so far…I’m guessing the strong winds are on their way?

Finally hearing some wind in the trees and the temp is falling away too, having popped up to 3C in the rain band. Wind chill has been as much as - 4. Slight dampness on the ground but no whiteness if any sort. Looks like showers over the Bristol channel will be the only chance of snow in our region before dawn.

After a brief bout of winds, still nothing special. Not the 60mph the BBC say, or 50mph from the Met Office. Gusting to the high 20's.

Whilst stormy nights are not unusual down this way I've just had to drag myself out of bed and wander out into the backyard to sort out a chest freezer which I'd put out the other day waiting to go to the tip. It had quite impressively been blown several ft and was making its way down the side passage. Fairly consistent 60mph gusts I presume maybe responsible

Very strong sustained winds here for the last couple of hours with some very cold air digging in now. Quite impressive. It must be pretty wild further north/north east.

Windy old night, but milder than was expecting. Temp never dropped below 5c

Just back from a ten mile round trip and the amount of debris on the roads is quite impressive. Anything from twigs and small branches to a couple of small trees, plus a couple of wheelie bins and peoples recycling!

Looks more west than forecast so some might do quite well in our region later for snow
