Although the lying snow is wet, it's still falling as snow here. Showers on and off so far this morning, with the current one being of decent intensity.

OK, anyone want to take a punt on when Glasgow will see snow again after today? 

Is there a chance of snow later for Glasgow too once the once approaching now moves away? 

That shower has just passed here with the first flakes I’ve seen this winter. I think later today provides the best opportunity for lying snow in this part of Scotland. It’s unclear just how many showers will reach this far west and how intense the precipitation will be. Hopefully we’ll see a good stream of showers through the central belt though I’m concerned about whether we will see a rain/sleet/wet snow mix or proper snow. The main activity for the Glasgow area should be between 6pm and 6am - I have no idea if conditions will be favourable for precipitation to fall as snow by then.

Around 6-7cms in Upper Tweeddale. Once again the old addage 'get the cold in first' and sit tight has come true! Nobody forecast it...

It's fluffy dry snow and has fallen in temperatures of around -4C, which in itself is unusual. Overnight low of -6.9CC current 'smirry snow' at -2.3C. Ace!

A few flakes here again, also the Beeb weather forecast is now showing sleet around 18:00, fingers crossed they have it wrong again.

I don't want to follow the daft thread as that lot flip more often than a beast from the east weather forecast...but how is it looking for the run up to Christmas.

I know it's automated and changes it's mind like my Mrs but this Met Office forecast is an upgrade of sorts as it was showing rain and sleet on the last update!

Oh, I like this trend.

Day started with heavy rain and 2.1c - the last 30mins though has seen temperatures drop to 0.4c and its heavy snow as a result - rapidly covering up the sad looking snow remains from earlier this week.

It's heavy wet snow but its white and pretty so more than happy with that

Snowing in kilmarnock...  heavy burst last 15 mins or so has left a dusting. Most unexpected !

Well, at the rate it's been snawin here so far, I'm on for 1 cm in a week! Even my wee bro has more behind the Pentlands.

But that might all change the nicht! MetO suggesting some real fun and games coming my way. Hopefully doesn't get marginal.

Low temperatures and dewpoint condusive with snowfall.  Colder 850s will let the cold air sink further south too, I'd imagine.

Scattered wintry showers and and ice risk on Saturday morning,. Then an area of more prolonged wintry showers will move into Angus and Tayside later Saturday and spread southwest overnight to affect more Central areas.
