Another air frost now, hovering at 0.0C with other stations down to -1C in the adjacent countryside and suburbs.

Expecting things to wake up in here in the coming days. The day to watch is next Thursday for snow chances, so not long to go now! Perhaps another good November snow event like 2021 would be great!

Im guessing by Wednesday it will be much busier in here, as for now already down to below -1c here.

A Midlands snowy dream from the GFS.

Wouldn’t trust it, though. It looks at odds with other models and has a habit of overdoing these lows. Shame.

GEM similar to GFS, UKV looks quite marginal could be sleety rain mixed with snow at times I'd have thought, elevation will be quite important I think.

Getting to the stage where we know a low will strengthen and slide through on Thursday now, but where exactly still need another 2 days of runs to get better cross model agreement. MOgreps attached as well.

Lol… I’ve got continuous sleet symbols all day Thursday via the BBC app 🤭

Back to today though, cloud and damp’ish…..haven’t got above 5c 🥶

It's a thoroughly miserable day today, bleak as anything.

Got the drone up very briefly, this was at around 80m, very bleak day and no wonder the light levels are so low today, the cloudbase is no higher than a small skyscraper!

I haven’t got my tape measure to hand, but that certainly looks higher than 80m 🤭

But a proper old style November day…..best day of the year for us coldies weds 🤗

Absolutely. Lovely and seasonal after what in my view has been a poor autumn...! Imagine if we got an old fashioned blizzard on the last day of meteorological autumn...!! 😍

Keeping an eye on Thursday of course! But before that, a slightly belated note that the night before this one (ie Sat 25 into Sun 26) was the coldest of the season so far here, -2.9 °C min. Shame Sunday itself was such a miserably grotty day!

Sundays often wet, Saturday often the best day of the weekend, only S of this area will get snow Thurs, say south of B'ham

Yes grotty day here also yesterday.

Started dryish but light rain moved in from midday with the temp around 5C. Early evening turned a bit foggy., but cleared a bit as the evening progressed and rain set in.

Temperatures rose slowly overnight to a maximum of 8.6C this morning at 07:00. Rainfall 5.2mms, giving me a lowish, compared to  most, (thankfully) 64mms of rainfall this month so far.

Now rain has set in again, as the wind veers from WNW to NNE., since when the temperatures are now falling again -  currently 7.1, -  and forecast to fall further to 4C by 2PM.

Of interest is that 30 - 40 miles further north Polar Continental reports temperatures have not risen above 5C, for the last 24hrs, so Bham was just about the northern most that the milder air encroached before moving back south again.

Hopefully a few snowflakes  later this week for most of us,  to start the winter season going.

I did wonder, it certsonly feels cold enough, I was expecting to see it on the weather type radar.

Great news TM..   (?) sorry for the miserable  weather of course... but it does mean that the colder air is filtering south.

Similar news from here where the light rain continues, but the news is that the temp is now down to 4.6C  (from 8.6C at 08:00).

So that is quite a drop for the time of day.

Left hope for a stray sleet shower now Thursday's low has trended away south. People in the MOD thread pleased as they think it will mean less marginal snow from showers. Can't see it myself as it doesn't look cold enough for convective snow away from hills. Would love to be wrong.
