I think that what we have in Solihull atm is what would be called 'cold rain'...tbh, I've never fully understood what that means, most rain feels cold to me! Anyway - it's cold, and it's raining. I actually went out for a gentle 2 mile run in it...refreshing after the first few strides!

Cold front passed here at 9am sharp, 7.5C just before it passed, now at a chilly 4C. Some advection fog last night too.

Looks like some snow managed to settle above 400-500m in North Yorkshire earlier.

I think Thursday's system won't reach us, so it will come down to any snow showers reaching inland from the North Sea here and maybe any streamers that set up. Some crisp sunny days and night time frosts from tomorrow should be the main theme this week.

I always feared that the low would be further south

Oh! well at least it’ll drag colder air over the UK and like you mentioned there’s always hope of something showery developing

I’ll go for 30%, atm, but I’ve seen things change literally overnight 

so regarding our chances, we’ll know more mid week

Need an E or ENE wind, then a good chance, but not off NE'ly or NNE'ly

Agree, as this is what I was saying earlier, things can develop overnight or quickly as such….we live hope

Temp dropped to 3.7C here as the rain eased this pm  ...

Thought I saw one or two 'blobs' on the windscreen. After finding out it was blobby further North it could have been valid

Hopefully in time them odd blobs will eventually become full on 50p size flakes that we all deserve……okay…if the truth be known….we desire

Could be some ice issues tonight if some showers make it here just after midnight then an air frost few hours later!

Stunning day here today, a few wisps of cloud but otherwise sunny and the sky a nice blue; and it's deliciously cold out there! Hat, gloves, scarf and warmest coat needed for my walk around Elmdon Park this afternoon. Thoroughly enjoying this spell of weather, reminds me of the beginning of December last year too. More of this in winter would be very welcome, from my perspective...so rather than worrying about when it will end etc, I'm making the most of it. Lovely stuff!

I agree, a lovely crisp winter's day. I'm hopeful of more. The constant rain and gloom of the last couple of months was grinding my gears.
