Just realised that 🤦 It is the front that looks to push northward later Sunday/Monday.

You watch, all recent delights went further South and now these hopes will go further North…..keep the faith that’s what I say 🙏🙏🙏

It keeps Monday’s low further south, too. Northern edge stalling on my. Door step.

GFS further north again. Peak District buried in snow whilst I’m right on the rain/snow line. Need it to all be a little further south.

What did I say, plenty on time for change yet though  👇👇👇

Latest GFS and ICON pretty much sucks for most areas in the short-term, and APERGE limits snow to northern areas. Hopefully the outputs will change over the next 24 hours, otherwise cold rain it is (and a lot of it) for much of the region. 😑

Temperatures are going to be crucial for tonight's snow(?!). Particularly to the south of us.

Today is only slowly warming up. MY minimum was only -3.7C overnight as fog formed and prevented a further drop,

Currently at -2.9C (10:00) with a suspect  dp of -5.3C. So it looks OK at the moment, but the breeze is drifting in from the south.

The real problem could be tonight that we have freezing rain somewhere in the Midlands.

Good luck to everyone for the snow..

Looks like a mainly rain/sleet event this evening for anyone south of Derby. Surprised the Meto warning comes as far south as it does although I'm guessing they are just covering themselves incase of any adjustments. At this stage 20 miles further north/south is about the most I'd expect from the latest GFS prediction. Buxton and the surrounding hills I suspect will do very well again just a shame that any snow will only be around for a couple of days until milder air takes over for the foreseeable.

still think we're looking at rain virtually all day tomorrow, that would be the 4th Sunday on the trot, any snow that falls at low levels, won't lie for long

GFS is the last model I would trust on this. It’s completely at odds with all other model output and has a tendency to blow up lows too much.

Tonight’s mostly. Late Sunday/Monday does look the wrong side of marginal for most.

but with timing, bbc appears to have Mondays rain much too far east, keeps us mostly dry

Just received my met weather warning for snow from 6pm this evening to 12:00 tomorrow.

The warning extends to about 20-40 miles south of here.

I trust this warning rather than the 12 hr out of time weather as per the BBC.

By lunchtime  (13:00  I think) they will catch up with this mornings forecasts.

It is getting to be 'window watching/ curtain twitching'  for us in the south and central midlands.

sure is looking good for theses parts. The snow that fell here Monday night has not thawed in the shade, front garden, driveway still 90% cover, but only a thin cover, haha, just shows how cold this spell

has been.

State of play with the latest model runs.

Arpege, Harmonie, ICON and COSMO all showing a pasting from around Brum northwards.
