Sunny here in Chessington but can see the band of rain visibly in the distance, maybe it is going a little further north than forecast or it will develop more widely as the day goes on .

A LITTLE further North? It's almost through the Midlands into EA, that's way way out!

What happened to all this heavy rain the beeb/met were banging on about day after day?

God know, I hope it comes those two heavy showers yesterday were very welcome, but just meant I didn't have to water my plants that evening, everything is still dry

All this incoming rain will be good for drought stricken Kent. The likes of Weir Wood Reservoir at 100% and Bewl Reservoir at 92% can be topped up. LOL

If Carlsberg did droughts......

My cracked garden is not in a reservoir.

so nice to sleep without waking up a sweaty mess

had some rain today, breezy

so yeah

Good  Morning all,

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, well.

As has been mentioned above, was expecting to have seen some rainfall by now but it seems to have moved a bit further North now, and may not amount to much, here in S.E. London.

Below, is the latest Meteociel observation grpahic, showing the rainfall arriving in our Region;

image.thumb.png.f3b07d64719e01efe6fc319f94545080.png

Was listening to the Ashes Cricket on Test Match Special the other Day and hearing listeners sending in their Cricket related Limericks, gave me the idea to compose some of my own, for my Horse Racing Competition Thread.

Having seen DAMI's post, about finally getting a comfortable Night's sleep, I felt it only right to compose one  in tribute for the sterling work that she did on the HEAT HATER's Thread last Summer, as I'm a fully aid up Member of that Club. Thankfully, it has been derelict so far this Summer but I'm not celebrating, just yet.

So, just for you Dami;

ODE TO PRESIDENT DAMI

There was a South East Member called Dami

Who hated waking up hot and clammy

So, she started a Club

Giving hot Weather the snub

To Heat Hating, she certainly is the Mammy.

Not sure I'd give up the Day job, if I had one!!

Regards,

Tom Q. 👍

Your cracked garden does not mean the whole of Kent is in a drought, it might just mean your garden is dry, which in summer is not unusual.

Think it's warmer than thought too, felt warm in a t-shirt just now. Ps when did I say Kent was in a drought, big difference to the ground needing rain, and full drought. Trees, we have some with no leaves already, but apparently we don't need rain.

Looking at my sky, expect showers to from where the rain isn't.

Well, after a reasonable dollop of rain, yesterday evening, it looks as if tonight will bless us with some more. 👍

How long do you think it will take the rain to reach the Whitstable - Herne Bay Area today?

Better tell the Beeb and the Met Office, their forecast is about 12 hours out so far :drunk-emoji:

Lovely bit of rain this evening for about half hour. Garden needed it and it was lovely to hear. Wouldn't mind a summer of rainfall like that a couple of times a week in amongst long, warm days.

A weather warning in place for the eastern counties of East Anglia tonight. Certainly raining steadily now on the Norfolk Coast. At the moment the radar suggests the SE corner of Kent catching the worst, but as the low pressure spins out into the North Sea, taking its time to clear, it's the coastal counties that could indeed justify the warning.
