Weirdly, that's exactly what we've just experienced here. It feels really mild outside, far more than the actual temp might suggest.

15.6mm the rain total for us from this afternoon's efforts.

I thought that was common. Particularly in summer? I did see similar for today though. A "spike" almost

Ridiculously warm/humid air when you open the windows. Everything steamed up on the outside 🤣 Were all sat in here freezing while it’s warm (if a little wet) outside

Very heavy rain on its way north from Kent now, and winds, plus lots of sirens, hopefully not related.

It's hammering it down now, but at least it'll wash the bird sheet of the bathroom window!

Gone very windy since the winds switched round to the south west, lots of loud gusts, rain is easing though.

Same rain is stopping, but wind is picking up if anything.

Wind really howling down the chimney this evening, more recently since it changed from easterly to southwesterly.

Temps have really shot up across the SE this evening. For example, below, Heathrow was 12.8C at 4pm and 10pm it was 17.2C, warmest it's been all day.

No I have never noticed it before. Feels cooler than actually is due to wind chill. But never the other way round? guess the wind is warmer  😃

0.7mm of rain since midnight and quite breezy from the south this morning. Warm too at 16c.

Very quiet on the main forum, thought everyone would be up and analysing the latest outlook for the rainfall across the UK but barely a peep since yesterday.

I read that and was disappointed. South East always misses out lol I like dramatic weather types so it'll just be breezy and showery for us then? What's your take on things?

I went through the 6z Ops for rain accumulation up until 6am Saturday. For London, the lowest estimate was about 6mm, and the highest over 50mm!

In Hampshire it was even worse. Some outputs have it almost completely dry, others have over 100mm. I haven't had time to check ensembles too to see which pattern looks most likely.

Short-lived and intense; we had 5.2mm in about 10 minutes and then it was gone.

Looks like more heavy rain coming here soon.

Yep precipitation always difficult to predict. Very heavy rain moving in from France so somewhere will get a soaking

All that rain gathering to the south over France and heading north, some thundery, and heavy showers ahead of it, were the Met Office sure they wanted to cancel the yellow rain warning for SE England 🤔
