It's a shame that this could arrive later into the night, it will just be a tad too warm for snow here at the moment.

I'm hoping to get a weather station in the coming days so hopefully I can get better readings.

Yes very useful. Try and get one that records dew points as thats the one that tends to scupper snow in the south west.

06z GFS looks like a bit of an "upgrade" in terms of the PPN to me?

I'm trying to tell myself to stop looking, relax, what will be will be, it's a nowcast.....etc. But i can't help it.

Very slightly!

I'm in the same boat, nowcasting is just too engrossing.

Probably being unrealistic for where I am, but the precip on the radar is moving a bit NE at the moment.. (I presume that was predicted?). Looks like South Wales could get some if it carried on like that…

Very slight nudge north on 6z, literally a whisker too far south for anything meaningful, but its very very close to the south coast, literally so close!

Dew points? I'm looking at some between £30 and £50 but I'm not sure if that's included.

On a non-snow related note, I saw some swimmers wearing nothing more than costumes in Clevedon Lake yesterday. It was so cold that they were shouting out in pain. There's a hard core of swimmers who go out into the lake every day but I think these temperatures are challenging their resolve.

Some snow and ice causing travel disruption in places.

Issued: 10:15 (UTC) on Tue 13 Dec 2022

Intermittent, mostly light, snow across southwest England on Tuesday afternoon may become a little heavier and more widespread into Tuesday night, before clearing southwards on Wednesday. Near some coasts sleet is more likely, especially at first, but this brings an ice risk. Strong winds may cause drifting and poor visibility, especially over Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor where the snow is likely to be heavier. Here, 5 to 10 cm snowfall may accumulate above 200 metres. Towards the north and east of the warning area small amounts of snow, mostly no more than 1 cm, seem likely.

Regions and local authorities affected:

London & South East England

Hampshire

Isle of Wight

South West England

Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole

Cornwall

Devon

Dorset

Plymouth

Somerset

Torbay

When it gets this cold it's plain bl##dy stupid; real risk of cardiac and then stretched health workers get called out when some plain common should've come into play.

Jeeeeez - fingers crossed.  I just think of 2013 and the red warning we had that night only for it to hit the channel islands instead!

regarding the warning, Somerset! that's a pretty broad brush, Somerset is a large county.

Somerset is split into north, south, east and west Somerset.

defiantly a nowcast situation

I'm in the same boat, nowcasting is just too engrossing.

The slight adjustment north puts me in the firing line just about, fingers crossed as only seen a 30 second sprinkling so far.

Well I can tell you it won’t come to North Somerset as I’m here! 😂

Precipitation only makes it here if it’s not cold enough to snow it seems 🤦🏻‍♂️

Happy with the warning for  the IOW tonight. Been tracking this system for days. Let’s just hope it can spread westward and a little more north. The winds will be easterly later so hopefully that will help! Also through the night helps, we had a good snow window yesterday when we were marginal. All the best everyone for tonight

Im thinking the same but a shift of 20-30 miles north isn't out of the realm of possibility's but im not going to bet my house on it.
