17cm of snow here. Admittedly, it was snow when it fell from the cloud, but landed as rain.

Could well see some snow in the region tomorrow morning as the low pulls away, pulling the cold air back south on the western flank.

My car sits in a very sheltered place, but even so, I was surprised and delighted to see this this (🙄) morning!

Temperature still 1.5c here but rising with rain, may get some back edge snow tomorrow morning as low pulls away and temperatures drop again.

Temperature finally starting to rise. Forecast 11c later will feel positively barmy after the last couple of weeks of cold. Really longing for Spring now. Some sunshine would be nice too. March is turning into an extension of winter this year and not the start of spring.

Interesting temperature differential this morning between Bristol airport (1 degree) and Yeovilton (11 degrees).

That's a ten degree difference within the county, across about 44 miles.

Safe to say, down here we had snow falling during the early hours of yesterday morning, but it didn't last long or stick and the rain showed its hand! Just 3 miles up the road, there was snow everywhere at lunchtime... so marginal.

We held onto the cold air until this morning where we went from 1°C to 9°C in just a couple of hours. 22mm of rain in total over the past 2 days.

GFS 06z has decided not only to tease us with some back edge snowfall tomorrow morning, but SW areas appear to have a front coming in from the SW during the afternoon/evening. Uppers are much more supportive of snowfall across our area- one to watch?

An interesting difference across Warminster noted by myself this morning. Having gone to the W/SW side of town there had obviously been more snow there yesterday than at home on the Eastern side of town.

Looking at reports yesterday, the further west you were the better the snow fall with parts of Somerset doing well.

Meanwhile, temperature heading up nicely and we have sunshine!

I'd say we had up to 7 cm on the right surfaces (photos from about 8.00 am). Driving into Bath Uni - some patches with a lot less, now almost gone. Up the hill at the uni and there had been more than Warminster, I'd suggest. (I'm on the SW edge of Warminster, near the little Tesco).

Certainly a nice last hurrah. I also struggle to recall a winter with two falls so far apart (Mid Dec we had a couple of inches too). The difference was the mid Dec lasted a week with almost no melting...

Morning all, a far more interesting day weather wise watching the warmer air pile in.

The temperature graph for Wareham (Mapantzville)  shows the steep temperature increase that ramped up there from 08:03 this morning:

Could contain: White Board, Chart, Line Chart

Meanwhile here, some 5mls to the ENE of Wareham, the warm air ramp up started at 08:45 (difference in data scales)

Could contain: Chart, Plot

With the sudden increase in windspeed AND change of direction all visible on the graphs

Went to Chipping Sodbury this morning and decided to come home via Old Sodbury and along the A46. It is still beautifully snowy up there, the fields are still white, but then it is so much higher up. There was also quite a foggy area between, say, Tormarton and James Dyson’s place. Nice to get out and see it all!

Scrap that just checked the winch weather site again and it broke this morning! Thought that was a bit odd following the above reports!

Had 26.4mm since the rain started yesterday.

Currently laying underlay/carpet. The windows are wide open as I'm roasting! 11.1°C.

Definitely not as cold as yesterday but doesn’t feel that pleasant here as the breeze is stronger and quite cold coming off the sea. Cloudy with occasional drizzle at the moment. 9.4°C

Well, massive long shot here, but the back of the low is building up nicely… if it sinks south east as predicted could be some surprises in the morning if it gets cold enough…

Looking at the regional threads up north, they are finding the same issue as was experienced at lower elevations across our region, it snows and snows but just doesn’t settle.

Heavy rain here at the moment must be snow on high ground
