After what seems an age, the initial police report in to the recent Bournemouth drownings of the two young people..

TINYURL.COM

NO CRIMINAL offences were committed at Bournemouth beach which led to the deaths of two children, police have finally confirmed.

What alarms me is that the police didn't shut the beach the following day. It was not known what had caused the deaths, but they did know that riptides were a possible cause. So why leave further people, especially youngsters, potentially exposed to that same threat?

On a weather note, heavy rain showers here this morning with the sun poking through every now and then.

The interesting thing is, that people stayed away from that area initially, because the cause was unknown. A week later situation normal, with people swimming in that area, and now the pleasure boat has been withdrawn, but that had nothing to do with anyway, but the company went broke through loss of income. The coroners report is due in September.

Meanwhile, as noted the wind has eased from yesterday, after an overnight low of 12.9°C at: 04:32, currently 18.4°C, RH71%, and wind gusting 19mph from the SW.

Thought I heard some thunder while outside a bit earlier. Detectors show some lightning had occured to the West in the downpour that just moved over.

Well, 100mm has now been surpassed this month. Certainly wasn't expecting that so soon... let alone at all!

Morning All, the overnight low of 12.1°C at: 05:08, has warmed up 18.6°C, RH73% and light breeze from the S gusting 13mph.

From Above a couple of shower bands marching eastwards, will we be lucky today, hmmm I wonder?

OH is down there today with her mates. Walking to Bournemouth, I think.

Not jealous at all.

The first properly clear evening for what seems a while. Plenty of sunshine today with a showery hour sandwiched around midday.

Really feels quite warm out there now, especially because the wind has dropped off.
I don’t think I want it much hotter than this. I hope the heatwaves that are over Europe and America don’t spread to us!
