What do some think of a decent light show tonight? If those storms are elevated lightning will be visible for countless miles outside of the storms.

Quiet in here! Looks like a good chunk of Cornwall amd most of Devon going to get quite a storm soon… and possibly Somerset if it keeps going. I’m probably stupidly hopeful it’ll build east and travel further! Likely I’ll regret saying that last bit tomorrow, but let’s see..

Humidity building up again high 70s .

Temp still 22.1C

I have showered again and washed hair and I'm still feeling hot and sticky.

Moved into spare room in hope it's cooler . Curtains back just in case any lightening starts to show .

I hope we can all get some rest tonight and then maybe a storm .

23.8C hee humidity now up to 70% .

Been  a lovely day despite heat and have managed to do stuff as well .

There is a neighbour two doors down cutting a tree down because there's a wasp nest in it . I'm really worried about him as it really dangerous doing that  he could get very badly hurt. I've closed the  windows as I'm concerned about wasps going everywhere.

Rather them than me! Hope everything went ok, you're absolutely right that is an incredibly dangerous thing to do... 😅

Two peals of thunder  out of nowhere , going v dark and rain though the sun wants to shine , all very odd . Edit, several deep growls and lightning .

19.6 95% humidity .

I hope those who want a storm  get a storm get one .

How is everyone today ? Any plans?

A big thank you as well, to this lovely forum especially Beka when I was ill, the result is that I was fast tracked and have my operation on Thursday.  Will be in hospital overnight and two weeks to recover .

Morning All, a warm night with the overnight low of 17.6°C at: 01:17, currently 20.3°C with the RH92 %, Humidex 27.1°C, and a 4mph light air movement from the ENE. Having just doubled the monthly rainfall with what looked better on radar than in delivery with a mere 0.4mm of rainfall. Ah well, better than nowt!

No atmospheric action last night, however there is a tidy little electrical cell heading our way currently. Fingers crossed.

Yep, this one might actually develop further, rather than the usual other way around.

I think I can hear distant thunder.

Scrap that, looks like the electrical activity is dieing off.

Should get a good soaking though

OK so it's 10:45, how long do we give it before this sight changes this morning? P.S. People are still arriving!

It's 10:58 and people are packing up or covering their towels and umbrellas are up!

Some very occasional loud thunder and biblical rain. The electrical activity hasn't stopped the local dog walkers using the nature reserve, which is full of pylons (it's the terminus for Hinckley C electricity).

Good little storm, but as usual, the main core of it passed to the East of Weston-super-Mare.

Little cell just passing over here, on the western periphery of the cell to the east of Bristol.  No T&L but some very heavy rain with large, cold raindrops.

On a slightly future note, that’s a lot of heavy rain heading into Poole and surrounding areas shortly, wonder how it’ll react as it continues it’s journey N/NE towards Wiltshire & Bath.

Oh my goodness, I hope they recover quickly. My sister had a British bully puppy who is recovering from emergency surgery and the heat definitely isn't helping 🥺

Light rain at the mo, and the cell seems to be weakening / fragmenting as it nears the coast, insufficient rainfall yet to send everybody scurrying! It also lacks electrical energy at the moment.
