Evening All, (even if i am talking to myself!) cracking day in the garden, feeling quite warm in the sun with 20.8°C at: 13:26, now partly cloudy so if the aurora does kick off it could be a challenge to see it, currently 15.9°C.

I'm here 3 times a day. Just nothing to say.

Good evening to you. Much the same weather wise here too. Was a good day for drying washing on the line.

Just got mine in. Been out since Friday 😆

A fairly decent day overall today. Sunny for most of the day and felt reasonably warm. Reached 19.8°C

This morning’s rain has been terribly modelled at short range!

UKV had it through 2 hours earlier.

Net Weather had nothing.

GFS had something much further SE.

Met Office was closest but underestimated the size of the rain area.

Back to usual second-half-of-2023 fare this morning it seems, very gloomy, with some rain.

Still very humid though and not cool.

More generally, how would those of you from the Central South rate September 2023 so far? I was out of the country until last week.

While it looks like it was unusually hot, and sunny, until about the 9th I get the impression it's been predominantly cloudy since the 10th (with the notable exception of the 14th/15th, when a second brief heat spike occurred) and with occasional, sometimes very heavy and prolonged, rain.

So not a classic September of the 1997 or 2003 type but perhaps more like 1999? That month was very warm and sunny until the 11th, then average for a few days, and then very wet and dull in the second half, albeit with temps - particularly at night - above average.

And perhaps the third successive month to be both dull and wet in this area? If so, hoping October reverses the trend - it needs to, as we're then into the three months of darkness so the next few weeks are essentially our last chance of decent weather this year!

Lovely day yesterday, hit 22c mid afternoon, plenty of long sunny spells all day.

Looking like a downgrade for us with the storm.
It was looking like mid to late 40s winds through Wednesday for use, but now the highest gust is in their low 30s for Wednesday evening and early hours.

Cloudy, dry this morning, 20c.

Having to keep up the watering of the vegetables, no rain since last Thursday.

The early gloom and rain has cleared to fairly sunny and very warm weather.

This week looked fairly grim on the models though seems to be turning out better than expected.

Looks like quite an intense squall line / trough about to hit Bristol. Get your washing in!

There's England cricket at Bristol today. My neighbour has gone with his lad.

Going to stick it on, to watch them scatter.

Moving ENE, and has some feisty embedded areas of action within it..

Yeah, they've just shown it heading in.

I don't know the ground, but I think it's to the West of the city, so they'll be off soon.

Just now, kumquat said:

LOL - they seem surprised on the radio!

Exactly. They missed the chance to get the covers on early and the wicket got soaked.

It's absolutely chucking it down.

Ireland will be pleased though. They were getting smashed around the park.

Just hitting me now. Coming down hard!

We passed through it 15 mins ago in the car, coming from Yate thru Iron Acton, Winterbourne. Main road and drains thru Winterbourne, outside the school, were struggling to cope with the monsoon rain.

Been a cracking sunny day here, 22c again in the long sunny spells.
Little cloud here, but notice a cloud covering hovering to our West.
Wind has picked up here, breezy at times, a good handful of 18mph gusts.
