The warmest October day for 5 years!

@offermanwas that rain in Frome this afternoon? I spent my time equally between Warminster and Westbury, noticed some mid level cloud in every direction but never imagined it was producing showers!

Yes, it was rain, literally for two minutes quite big raindrops much to my surprise!!

Low cloud and mist has turned up around sunrise for the 3rd time in 4 days. Wonder why it didn’t on Sunday!

Certainly was last night!

Cloudy here too. It's trying to clear, but not trying hard enough.

We still don't have any broadband, but there is at least activity up the lane. A few vans and a cherry picker, and they've shut the road at one end of the village.

Misty start here. It's brightened up somewhat this afternoon and is oscillating between 18 and 19 degrees. It's been nice to have such mild weather for the last few days.

OK, so this mild weather is great for keeping heating costs down, but it's confusing the heck out in the garden as plants are now in full bud and my blackcurrants are beginning to sprout new growth!

All part of the plan to take over the Parish Council, wait and see!

Afternoon!

What a dreary day?! A max of 18°C.

Managed to get more garden work done. So many weeds banished! Lawn cut etc. Trying to get stuff done early this year, helpful now I've got one of those green waste bins. 🍃 🚛

My cucumber plant is flowering again as well and late sweet peas are starting to bud as well.

Parsley has regrown too.

Mist lifted and a bright day occurred.

How are you feeling now @Dorsetbred

Hiya, to pick up on the growing of veggies, we still have cucumbers growing in the greenhouse, although the actual growth has slowed, and still have tomatoes coming along. I picked the last of the raspberries today. I'm out and about, dug out a old cherry tree today that has been poor, so it needs to go. It seemed very much as though my off spell was due to the flue jab as I now feel much better, not enough to go running round the block (but then again I never did that anyway!)Thanks for asking.

How are you progressing in your recovery?

Cloudy all day apart from a brief sunny spell this afternoon. As a result it felt a fair bit cooler and even more so later when the breeze picked up a bit. Reached 17.7°C

I think I am about to hang washing out at just after 7am for the last time this year because it will either be too wet or too cold/dewy at this time from tomorrow onwards.

Very balmy this morning! Dawn reveals Stratocumulus with a few clear breaks.

Morning All, a mild night with the low of 15.0°C at: 08:31, currently 16.3°C, RH90% with a gusting light  breeze in from the SW, under overcast skies. As for rain, well some would be welcomed as its still a very dry month so far down here. Interesting to see how the area of warning for rain has been merged from the initial area of the SW England/ East Wales and the Southern Midlands, and then a separate area across the south coast, which was essentially covered by the GFS, Met Office and ECMWF model posted on Tuesdays deep dive video, so it seems the punt is wait and see where it goes.

A very dull day but still very warm none-the-less. Sorted a few more bits in the garden at lunchtime ahead of the deluge expected...
