Morning, will be my very 1st season in this thread- as I now reside in west oxfordshire/ and occasionally Uxbridge, middlesex however more so in the former now.( Bampton -ox.   Anyway some interesting developing scenarios for the region Thursday- through to Sunday.   And I’ll be following the models closely as we draw further in on the above .  Enjoy your day .

Nice to see you! A lot of us flock in just for the winter before we depart for warmer climes in spring. The regular posters just about put up with the winter tourists  

Lots going on here not least issues with Beka's hedge maintenance.

But weatherwise looks good for cold seasonal week. Looking forward for your weather insight and your unique use of the English language

Morning All, solar power is the name today, it's lovely out there, a quick trip to Ringwood, now time to place fingers on keyboard. the overnight low of 3.5°C at: 07:00 has eased up to 8.3°C, RH82% and light air movement from the N.

In the site office today but weatherwise its been a nothing day - light cloud, no sun and neither mild nor cold, for the lunchbreak stroll...

Potential for a little bit snow for a large part of the south west on Thursday. Potential being the operative word, could just be sleety rain the higher you go the whiter obviously.  How much is up for debate but the chance is there.

Completely cloudy all day and clear since around 16.45!!!! Frost now forming under moonlit starry sky.

Sunny earlier in the day but clouded over around lunchtime. Reached 8.0°C

Very cloudy yesterday, 8c max mid afternoon.
Low of 2.9c at 1am this morning.
Now 4.3c, no frost.

A good watch is the Met office deep dive on snow yesterday.
Really good focus at times on our region with the current battle;

This is a first for the season, temperature dropping after 08.00, currently the lowest it has been all night etc at 0.7c .

Temp in last hour dropped 1c to 3.3c.
Still cloudy, but much looking brighter than yesterday.

Cracking video. These deep dives are really interesting. 

The case for snow on Thursday has somewhat diminished based on that!

A low of 1.2c now climbing steadily, currently 3.2c

Looking like the really cold weather will effect my locale for just 3 days now

The latest run from GFS still proclaiming the chance of snow in the south west tomorrow.

Other models don't agree so probably a case of looking out the window and see what happens

Yellow warning for snow and ice now for the south west just issued

Spells of snow may develop over hills, especially parts of Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor, Blackdown Hills and Exmoor during the early hours of Thursday before petering out later in the day. The highest parts of Dartmoor and perhaps Bodmin Moor may see 5-10cm of snow with some drifting in strong easterly winds. Elsewhere, accumulations are likely to be relatively small, perhaps 1-3cm at most, and mainly in areas inland and above 100-200m. In addition to this, icy patches may also develop on untreated surfaces.

After the video yesterday saying it was looking unlikely!

A foggy frosty start the thermometer on my shed was reading -1c 

 

No Snow for us this year as I am too far north which is the opposite of what happened this time last year.

Morning All, an overcast start after the overnight low dropped to -0.8°C at: 00:00 and warmed then all night due to cloud cover, currently 4.5°C, RH93% and light air movement from the NE. Repeat that tonight and anything precipitous tomorrow am will be cold rain.
