I dont think anyone in the home counties will see any signifigant rainful this evening, can only hope that these opressive temperatures pay off over night.

sky to my west screams elevated storm.

Its still an outrageous 32c in my garden.  was probably higher earlier, but the humidity is going through the roof now

Hang on, what’s this? Some little showers hiding behind the so-called front?

Curious about this evening across the SE quarter. My trusty NMM yields a band of c.1,000 MUCAPE along the front as it comes through.

It has been quite accurate at this point as the tongue of instability is modelled to be where we have seen lightning thus far this afternoon (up to IoW but not quite getting inland). But it’s expected to move inland and become more expansive over the next 4-6 hours.

The projected rainfall is virtually zero, but the reflectivity on the high resolution NMM does indicate something thundery looking passing with the front.

If there's no rain in it, I don't think we want it.

It’s just a tiny thing that started in Cherbourg 90 minutes ago and then made a special detour to miss me. Nice breeze though.

As predicted… Another bust for me, but I’m just grateful to feel a cooler breeze blowing. 😅

But good luck to everyone with this. 🌩⛈🤞🏻

Anyone notice that storm in N Scotland,...it's a monster.

Here comes a bunch of stuff off the channel - thankfully I think there’s a lot of moisture to come - and maybe a little electrical bonus. Just had a short shower. The rain feels so nice

Small bit of rain just now, was hoping for something more. Stuck in the kitchens past few days sitting at 45 at least, flats currently 26 - I need air 😅

The North Scotland storm is huge and like I mentioned at the beginning of the day these storms have huge updrafts in result causing that massive hail storm. Seems to be moving out of the Cape as time goes on though.

Starting to cool down a bit now, I imagine any storms that'll pop up would be quite dramatic

Sky here now beginning to flood with AcCas. Can it develop over the coming hours into some refreshing storms??

Sky flooding with AcCas here @Robbie Garrett. NMM 5KM gives us around 1,000 CAPE. Two signs for me that give optimism. We have until 10-11 I reckon👍

Had a brief shower here, was hoping it would cool everything down but if anything, it's worse. So muggy!

About 2 miles west of me is VIRGA, can see the strobes bouncing light of it now as one aircraft just flew through it.     I just know we are fighting against a lot, unless we are talking nocturnal cooling after Sunset and the unsettled nature of the front(s)?  A bit like the heat storms in Africa at night?

well as always the only storms about are in NE Scotland or South England.......incredible how every single time now its the same areas getting them. No storms up here for 2 years now.

If we get a storm warning it categorically means no storms as we have discovered the previous 33 times there has been one....but at least a raindrop would be nice...just one, please??
