Warm layer at 925mb for areas below 200masl. Funnily enough it can be the same temp over in Sheffield but because there's no warm layer it's snow.

And there's another warm layer add 850 hence the ice pellets but that's going soon.

Seems we are at the center of the shadow here @Kasim Awanin Glossop just slush deposits… oh well

Glossop is not good in a shadow situation, you’d be better off in Buxton. 😂

Winds howling and it’s raining here.

Hope my daughters enjoying watching her first rugby match. Probably not the best introduction 🥶

It is amazing how the little “foehn” effect has been so persistent and so focused on a really narrow area on the immediate downslope.  Stockport - Glossup - Oldham - Bury - Bolton - Blackburn.

Funnily enough areas that used to get buckets of snow off a Westerly/ North Wedtely when global warming hadn’t warmed the Irish Sea.

Pure sleet here, horrible. Even the dog walked straight back in disgust.

Many a very heavy snow fall from those set ups. Now got a gale force easterly and it’s heavy blowing snow but just will not settle.
