A brief but potent window for some very lively convection tomorrow lunchtime. A sharp cold pool with T500s down to almost -40°C. Modest CAPE.Expect a few lightning strikes and plenty of hail.

Not bad. Just wish it was happening north-west of Me.

Don't talk to me about driverless cars going on their own.

Courtesy car just arrived. We are frightened to use it given the current conditions with more on the way.

The sun is strong… lots of slush… with sun between showers should readily melt whatever lays on the ground… yes more incoming looking at radar… good you’ve got courtesy car 👍👌few and far between these days

Film crew on Old Glossopdale school site. Apparently they are filming for

After the Flood is ITV’s new mystery thriller and it's set to be a big one.

It’s putting down a decent covering now but looking at the radar I’m guessing this will be the last of the heavy stuff.

Heavy snow for 20 minutes or so but not a chance of it settling. We'd had a good hour of full strong sun beforehand and every surface had been warmed. To have any luck with spring snow the sun is best avoided.

Yeah night time is best at this time of year and hope that the daytime is completely overcast. The latter doesn't usually happen like that though, it's usually like that with mild wet dross. We're near solar noon right now or just a bit past it (sun at it's highest point in the day) so any snow likely to be very fleeting.
