Is a successful snow event for low lying NW England some sort of ancient unicorn creature?

Really heavy... Coming up to 1 inch now. Really nice consistency of snow as well.

You can see some settling the other side of the railway line.

Didn’t expect too much but for Manc city centre this is a seasonal way to start December at least.

Sleep well everyone.!

I can confirm some flakes of snow have fallen. Not sure if it’s settled, but it looks to be over now anyway let me go have a look….

Big flakes, slight dusting on my car. Whoopeee doopeee? Aside from that no settling.

That 6 hours of heavy snow forecasted by some high res models turned out to be about an hour of light patchy sleet. I’m gonna go back to bed I think🤣

Not a great effort here tbh. Just happy to have seen some settling snow this early....sometimes waiting until late winter for it some years.

It’s all up hill from Wigan to Bolton so if it’s snowing heavy there then it’s a whiteout here 😃

Winstanley & Parts of Pemberton  are probably the higher parts of Wigan
