I wish there was an app you could use that showed the cloud top heights, I know there’s the brightly coloured radars and the brighter colours mean very tall clouds, but would it would be much better if they at least specified the depths (ie. Yellow - 25,000ft, orange - 30,000ft, Red - 35,000ft, Deep Red - 40,009ft, Pink - 45,000ft etc…)

seems in America they have all these details but not over here in UK and Europe

Does anyone know how high the cloud tops reached today? Especially when the very active storm over north Birmingham was at its peak, thanks :)

Tomorrow looks better for this side of the Midlands. Clear skies from the off fuelling convection (skies are clearing right now and we’ve got some late evening sunshine). Today was a bit messy as cloud was slow to clear, followed by the big general area of rain.

when the UK is getting more storms than Florida you know something isn't right 😂, been here for just over a week now and there hasn't been a drop of rain just sunshine and heat and yet today in the UK it's just storms everywhere

Not really in my opinion. Chance tomorrow but a lot less CAPE to be honest.

no rain or thunder at all today here...probably the only place in England that has happened

it really is incredible the bad luck we have.

Your year was 2020. A warm Southeasterly most of the summer, storing the high dew points in the Cheshire gap and Manchester area. August that year up your way was insane. A rare setup.

My year has to have been 2018 or 2019 I can’t remember what year but I remember the amount of flashes was totalled up to 1000 in one hour, it lasted for hours after

A few flashes and rumbles here in mid-Suffolk, but the rain is something to behold. 2 inches in an hour 3 miles up the road from me. It’s carnage with sewage flooding the roads and fields like lakes
