My 10 year old summed it up yesterday, he said he cannot remember the last time he heard thunder and asked why is was so rare 🤣

I said its just where we live, other places get it, then went on about the Shropshire storm shield 😆 which he said, is that real. Bless!

I’m predicting a widespread thunderstorm event on the last weekend of May. Let’s wait and see if that comes to pass.

Had a few distant rumbles on the 8th January but not counting that, so today is the leaving day for me.. earlier than most years so not complaining

Well what a surprise nothing again 😞 typical, if I had worked from homw I would have heard the Wolverhampton storm! But was in Telford office and there was nothing.... Booo

Still in this club. The closest I got was mid-April when weak but pretty storms reached across from the New Forest to the other side of the island, so I've heard rumbles, but given I was under blue skies at the time I'm not going to count it.

Still here, I wasn't home this afternoon but even if I was I wouldn't have seen anything as it all missed here.

Still well and truly in here LOL. Not a rumble in SE Sheffield. This area really must have the fewest thunder days in the whole of the UK LMAO.

Yep everything goes around us I would love to know why the hell hardly anything tracks overhead.

Still here! Had a feeling I'd survive the events of the last few days. Came very close on Saturday night, but the storm somehow died off as it came over the Island, and while I did see the flashes and hear the thunder of the cell that reignited west of The Needles, the nearest lightning was basically 10 miles away. That must've been half a dozen storms now that have been within view but not overhead since the start of April!

I’ll place myself here for now. Had 2 storms so far this year, April 10th and May 5th, but it’s a tad depressing being a couple hours drive from some absolute belters over midlands and completely missing out.
