Oh my word, it’s amazing here in Warton, north warks. Non stop thunder and lightning, deafening cracks, power going off and on.

Well the Gap filled in but I think we'll get off relatively lightly

Looks weird on the radar, it should be torrential here

Had a dozen decent rumbles to my NW half an hour ago with one visible lightning flash. All quiet now apart from dogs barking.Very threatening to the SE but think the storms will miss here by 20 miles or so.

Three inches of rain in an hour here in Leamington ,rolling thunder that  should be heading your way .One hour of lightening and thunder here so far moving very slowly

Decided to go on a little storm chase, started in Aylesbury (Bucks) - Thame (Oxon) - Didcot (Oxon) - Wantage (Oxon) plus stopped in a few villages on the way.

What I thought would be simply be chasing for a few rumbles and flashes was certainly not the case. I literally followed the line of storms, roads were flooded, lightning all around (really angry I never replaced my dashcam, the footage would have been insane) booming thunde, what an afternoon.

I am now as far as Swindon and will slowly trek back home to Pitsone (Bucks), but what a Sunday afternoon it's been. I never expected things to kick off quite like this certainly in my top10 chases.

Just got back in and boy what a trip though not much lightning visible

went over Woodhead pass then towards Glossop and parked up on top of a hill then went back towards Woodhead  pass but took the Holmfirth road up on top of Holm moss to get ahead of the next storm,i got absolutely pelted by marble sized hail

will go through the footage in a bit

huge boom to my SW as i type.

Some great shots folks jealous the best I got was distance thunder and one distant flash of lightning. Amazing how all the energy transferred from the south of us to the west of us in five minutes.

On Flightradar24 a few planes have been put into a holding patterns now waiting to land at Birmingham Airport .

No thunder here yet , hoping it doesn't burn out before it arrives . Missed out yesterday as it went west of here .

We have an element of backbuilding from the west of Northampton, feeding up towards the sutton coldfield storm. For 2 hours now we have been having thunder.

The hold for Gatwick earlier this afternoon was dizzying.

Hmm....very possibly the Coventry cell is heading towards Stoke way...Will it last?

The lightning never seems to get closer than Uttoxeter and it seems to be losing intensity anyway. Just heavy rain I guess.

This concerns me because it suggests your 250m was not high enough to spark the match. It's no good if the energy this far north just jumps to the west of Bradford or the Dales.
