Looks like a storm from Nottingham will swing past the south west of us. Should get most of Chesterfield though. Needs to expand to give us a chance.

Will only be a few miles in it. Following the core with my finger (scientifically, of course) brings it right to the city centre on a NNW track, but it'll do a bit of 'developing' anyway. Looks a nice little storm  though.

Great storm structure pics from Birmingham today guys, great captures 👏

The core is moving directly north so should be a direct hit mate.

Some convection to the south east just about visible, I think I can make out a few distant rumbles as well.

Kuala Lumpur - humidity 1billion%, daily storm at 4pm, humidity reduced by two percentage points for about an hour.....

Same in Singapore and Hong Kong where I travel to regularly for work. Nothing in the UK comes close.
Very dreary day at Heathrow, crappy milk-grey sky, very disappointing so far but at least it’s feeling reasonably warm at 23°C

Approaching thunderstorms look nothing special in my part of the world... was looking forward to a good soaking!!

Early days yet for us you need to look south for what’s to come on the Netweather radar.

Despite how impressive they look, the storms here haven't had much sferics, just torrential rain.

Just been sitting out in the garden listening to the distant rumbles towards Chester way. Had to come back inside as large plops of rain started. Stopped as soon as I came back in lol

All over in a very short space of time, standard summer fayre of the past, a few flashes, a few rumbles and a proper downpour.

I really dont understand this, must be some kind of geological feature causing it......every storm that approaches us from the south instantly dies when it hits Stoke...and then shortly after reforms north of our town to continue heading north away from us. It happens far too often including again today. I would love to know what is causing this.

Current radar

notice the home grown stuff from the wash to Shropshire, further south is the front moving ever so slowly out of France.

I fear a very wet night to come across the uk

Plenty of hail in this storm, cloud formation unremarkable though 🙄

Despite the heavy radar returns overhead we have only had a handful of large rain drops. Looks like it was raining well to my north

Looks to be heading north east though? The western flank looks to be much lighter unless its due to beef up.

Dunno, playing the radar back from around 3pm onwards shows that line across the Midlands really growing and intensifying so... yeah, they're trying. The Notts storm, while small in stature, looks a good shape, too.

Courtesy of my brother in Clay Cross; thundering there...

Yeah, I think the stuff currently on the south coast will fragment as it moves northwards and become more showery in nature, but it’ll bring more organised rain to parts of east anglia and the wash

How much rain is forecast to fall in the south east. It looks like it will rain heavily for hours.
