A few spots of rain coming through Worcester now, a lot of rumbling but no visible lightning, no wind, everything has gone still, sky is extremely dark now to my south west, heading n / nne

Well, the radar shows that the best I can hope for is a brief spell of light drizzle.

Whoop-de-do.

Eying up that line of storms as it slowly inches north. Just as long as the radar doesn't do this:

That’s what this thunderstorm did and we are crying out for rain in Exeter as only had about 4mm in 5 weeks! Totally side swiped us, It’s like a sick joke, so jealous of you all that are getting torrential rain and thunderstorms 🥺

Well Radar has to be wrong as there's no way I can hear that storm from here towards Chesterfield from here.

I think its safe to say the forecast was very overegged for today. Yes middle of the UK has had a few storms but none of them really that strong and considering there was supposed to be a large MCS and scattered supercells its quite disappointing. We have had about of 20 mins of light rain and one or two rumbles here and thats it.

Where's that one?

Skies not really threatening hear surprised it's rumbling away to be honest. Got to be high level lightning as nothing is visible and skies looking actually brighter to the south.

Real corker over Long Eaton/west Notts way now. Not heard thunder like this for a long while. Good flashes as well

well yea because there isnt much of the day left and the main bulk of the storms were predicted for the afternoon. There have been a few isolated stronger storms but nothing on the widespread level and severe strength they said. Tonight is not supposed to be anything significant except maybe a batch of rain from the channel gradually heading north.
