Now I'm faced with a tough decision. I can either stay up and watch the storms roll in (and risk a bust) or head to bed and risk not seeing a thunderstorm. I think I'm going to stay up, I can't miss a storm! Being tired tis tomorrow's problem now. 🙂

I think I am pretty much on the western extent of anything electrical, but it's nice to see it lighting up out there anyway. Might even be a third wave tomorrow morning, as it all clears east.

Not sure about that Lightning Map.org. there's some odd strikes in the middle of storm-free areas to the west of me.  🤔

Change the live data setting from lightningmaps.org to the other one. It takes a few more seconds, but is much more accurate. image.thumb.png.bce48c40eb97fe23eed3264c515cb14d.png

Very bright and frequent flashes on this cam currently, enjoy everyone who gets them tonight, its been quite the wait for most of the south -

Absorb the views from our Sandown Webcam on the Isle of Wight looking across the South Coast. Check out the lovely sandy beaches and boats sailing past.

The storms in the channel islands, specifically the south ones are looking ridiculously heavy with rainfall rates and have gone from small but heavy showers to monsters in half an hour. Ones to watch out for then.

Shortwave moving into Channel has caused a shift in energy headed east, steering winds seems to have changed too

Can see not infrequent flashes to my south east - one faint peel of thunder too

It’s a mad storm. If it roots to the surface you’ll know about it
