Quite a lot of the snow cover has melted here and side roads are mostly snow free, snow cover still remaining on footpaths, grass etc in places though. It's been mostly cloudy but dry since the snowfall this morning.

The temperature reached 4C this afternoon. I was quite surprised how quickly the snow melted this afternoon given the temperature didn't get that high, it's been mostly cloudy and dewpoint has remained quite low. A bit of a stiff breeze has developed now and it feels really chilly and raw out, currently 3.4C.

Still a fair bit of snow lying about.  Temp 2.6°C at 4.30pm, snow felt slushy still when I had a poke at it.  Hope there's plenty of salt spreaders about tonight.  Remaining snow IMBY just before dusk.

What sort of surface temps are we looking at under this setup? 🤔

Hi wasn’t going to post until thunder time as this isn’t my weather, but just to report we had about 6 hours of snow on and off between 4ish and 10, left a couple of inch, turned to rain shortly after, all gone now very breezy and doesn’t feel particularly cold.

Plenty here, especially on the side streets (North Bolton). Also there is a lot of activity on the radar - met office says more rain for us later but the temp is dropping like a stone, so we’ll see. I’m hoping it might fall as snow.

Partial thaw here today but very slushy underfoot which will be lethal in the morning. Not looking forward to walking in that.

Using the UKV I can’t really see why there is a warning for Thursday evening. Looks a bit sparse. Maybe the odd shower.

Why does he need a plinth to stand on --- is he fearful of floods?

It’s a deterrent against the local hooligans 😂
