Mrs FLT and I were surprised to see a dusting of snow when we went out at 7.30pm last night, but such is the nature of showers that there was nothing when we arrived at nearby Nantwich a short while later.

Another very cold but gorgeous start to the day again today, but probably the last for a while.

And just like that, the cold spell is over. Weeks of model watching and finger crossing and it all boiled down to a Tuesday that was just slightly too mild for the snow to properly stick around.

It’s been cold but not super cold. The sun has been welcome and it’s been nice seeing the elusive, super rare white gold falling from the sky.

We’re just about to pop above freezing here and when we do, it’ll be the last time those digits are recorded for probably around 2 weeks.

Last nights min was before midnight when we dipped just below -3C. Here comes the Atlantic steam train. Hold onto your hats, going to be a mad, mad weekend.

Manchester's averaged 4 below for a week so I'm cold for a very cold week here. Snow always a surprise in Stockport so for me, a very good winter spell.

As always, depends where you live. Best snowfall for a few years here, although it didn't last very long. -7 at night is pretty good too.

I'd give it a 7/10

1ºC here and it's been snowing lightly...

Nothing overnight as far as I can tell; but looks like the temps are soon to be on the up

We’ve had a -7C, snow falling on Monday night, Tuesday morning, and Thursday night. Some snow cover since we had the original fall on Tuesday and persistent low night time temps.

Day time temps weren’t as low as I thought and we didn’t really get any significant snow, something that I’ve been chasing for about 3/4 years here now.

I'm re-rating this cold snap from 4/10 to 5/10 because of snow flurries last night and this morning. I guess it is OK. It could've been alot better.

I'm marking it as a 5/10.

1.5 " of snow on Tuesday and with a few flurries and frigid temps, is still hanging on.

7/10 for me. 5 cm snow; five consecutive air frosts. Minimum of -6.6°C.
back in Crosby it's good if you have that over  all winter combined.

We got another dusting on top of the 1inch of snow that has remained since Tuesday. Not too shabby really but its now back into the stormfest of UK weather we go!

I’m gonna give this spell 7/10. A rare snowfall for central Manchester and it was so special seeing the city turn into a winter wonderland. Would have scored it higher if the snow had lasted a bit longer, that pesky mild sector!

Nice to wake up to another dusting this morning and to see the frozen Manchester Bolton & Bury canal covered in snow, pic below. Can’t wait for the area to be developed and for that area to turn into a little park.

I also think I might get this photo framed: the skyscrapers disappearing into a snowy mist. 😍

I agree, epic photo! Like I said, you can't beat urban snow.
