Just goes to show how ripe the atmosphere is, nice little storm which developed right overhead out of nowhere, now moving away. Quite a few flashes and rolls of thunder. Monsoon style rain as well.

Nice thunderstorm in Ramsbottom.  Frequent lightning and almost constant rolling thunder, ebbing and flowing and echoing round the hills, for around 15mins.

Has felt like an old fashioned summer week, i.e hot in the sun, but not oppressively so, I would welcome a few more like it over the next few months.

Yep cell just to my south developing. Distant thunder getting more frequent.

Change of fortunes here. T-storm is now directly heading for me from the south.

Big rumble overhead. So cell moving away to the north now. Only two from itstrikes  but better than nothing.

Dark, looks ominous, interesting cloud formations...but not a lot happening

Yay, this is fantastic.  Bright white cloud to cloud right across the sky and a pink flash too. Proper shower now but no hail.

Heavy rain and very loud thunder and brill lightning show

Left Sowerby Bridge in sunshine but with it looking very dark higher up Calderdale and lightening started as we reached Hebden Bridge.

by Todmorden it was pouring down and with lightening every few seconds and heading up the hill and back over the border the rain was as heavy as I’ve ever driven in.

Pretty much stopped when we got home and it looked like we’d missed the worst of it but no such luck and for the first time in a few years we had a flooded conservatory floor.

strange as I only cleaned the troughs out yesterday so it certainly wasn’t blocked down pipes so it much have just been a freakish amount of water in a very short space of time.

thankfully it passed through though and a mop and bucket managed to clear a few gallons of water, hopefully before it had chance to do any damage.

Now this is a storm. Lightning after lightning. Big thunder rolling on and on. And 12mm of rain in about the last 10 mins.

What I said a few hours ago.......and it has largely held out although I did hear low rumbles of thunder and saw a couple of lightning flashes in the cloud.

That was a cracking storm! Always love a storm on a Sunday eve after a nice weekend being outdoors
