don't worry @Mair Snawwill post 100 times as soon as a heavy band of showers hits on Sunday 😁

I will take interest if that feature on Tuesday looks like it will hit here on Sunday nights models.

A few statements from the model output thread.......... Winter is over, topper at best,  snow for northern hills only,  raging PV, Atlantic barrelling thru, 90% will be snowless,  only the UK could fail to miss out.  The mad house is definitely in full flow this morning !!

Yes, much bickering, told you so's etc in there today. It was an interesting build up though and i thought models did well to get us to where we are consistently,  but i can see why they are disappointed...options of prolonged outbreak (??), easterly (???), etc but looks unlikely now. To my eye though this is prolonged in "UK" terms...its often just 1-3 day events.

Beyond next week then probs wetter/milder/windy but lots of interst in long range still to my eye...but I'll do my best to live in the here and now....

So, here we go!!! Taps aff today and looks a good day to get some jobs done ✔️,  then who is going to report the first snow in here And when... ? 🕑🌨 💰

A full week pretty much of some potential for pretty much everyone. And some thoroughly fresh air to enjoy even if you don't 🥶.  I love weather 🤓

First report will be @Halfamilefromnowhere in Northerly outbreak i reckon..

Definitely a day to get stuff done outside before " the coldest winter in memeory" unleashes its 8 days or horror and chaos 😂😂

Temperature 4c, windows opened to air the house ahead of the cold weather tomorrow. You can't beat cold fresh air 👍

Ahh the UKV has that feature on Tuesday only brushing past here at best. Most snow/sleet further southwest and Northern England... Which is also where I'm meant to be driving to on Tuesday so won't be an easy day!  Still time for things to change for the better though these things rarely end up moving north.

Re Tuesday feature it’s now within the range of some of the Hi Res models. The NMM 0.05° goes out to 72 hours so just about picking up on precip for Tuesday.

The 6z is due out shortly so will see if any north/south adjustments are made.

The NMM also has the 2k resolution model which goes to 36 hours and you can zoom right into Scotland. At 32 hours you can see the convective streams of showers for tomorrow afternoon across northern areas.

Seems consistent with the BBC TV forecast I just saw, which was taking Tuesday’s feature more across Northern Ireland and Cumbria. 😬

I do hope that comes off but fear that it will end up a 100 miles or so South. Still frost in the ground this morning with temp up to +2C

Tuesday's snow for the south-west and possibly Central Belt is still on the cards...

Oh no though, Wednesday's low is going to track further south, taking Tunbridge Wells' snow into France. How dare they steal our snow. It must be revenge for Brexit! (c) Daily Fail

In other news, we're at 6C now and looks like that might be our max. I wonder how @Halfamilefromnowhere's temp is doing as he'll feel the chill 1st...

Further to my above post the 6z NMM is out and shows a similar track to the 0z.

Possibly too far south for me in Dalwhinnie but could go either way.

Worth noting that the UKM model has this feature quite a bit further south in northern England.

Have notice the met office temps seem to be getting watered down in our area , just general winter fair.

Yes Dalwhinnie now showing -9 instead of -12c. Almost cancelled the holiday when I saw that! The snow symbols always seem to become less and less. Thankfully the computer generated apps are useless in a convective flow from experience from back home with snow showers moving off the North Sea.
