Fair here at 1.3C/0C up from a low of -4C/. Nothing thawing yet but just a matter of time. No showers made it across from the West having mostly died out over Highland Perthshire.

A covering here overnight. Last shower was rain and that, together with the snow which melted a bit, has just ended up frozen into compacted ice on the cold ground.

My temp sensor got totally buried by last night's dumping so I dunno what the temp actually is, but there's an obvious thaw on now, looks ugly out there.  Drip drip drip and a few woooomfs as slabs fall and land.

I have to get the car out again soon and the street looks like it has about 20cm of browning sludge on it. Hmm.

IDK what to say HC other than - 100% agree ! Going to be quite a shift in regime ushered in with some really active stuff, that squall line will rattle a few windows in the early hours if it barrels through as predicted.

Perhaps I'll spend the next week watching Twin Peaks with the curtains closed. (The theme music seems particularly appropriate this morning!)

A covering here too, adding to the dusting that's been on the ground since Monday, sparkling away under layers of frost. But that makes it my first snow day of the 'event' and sixth of the season. Minimum overnight of -4.0C so 28th air frost.

Still 2c with lots of snow inland but very slushy/windy at our level. Sky still looks wintry and if we get a few blue sky patches I am sure we will see a ground frost in prone spots.

Some snow showers in Wigtownshire last night made for a fun drive home.

Been a better cold spell than I thought it was going to be. Saw falling snow (a few times), annoying about Tuesday’s warm sector. Plus some harsh frosts, (-8.7c the low, would have gone double digits below if there had been proper snow cover). Those of you in the North have done really well.

Amber warning now out for Sunday into Monday, tomorrow looks hideous too. Excellent

3-4cms snow overnight with drifting which filled in the path I had dug for the pigs (spoilt pigs) Sleety rain this morning with slow thaw setting in. Lanes dodgy by all accounts. Will try and clear drive before black ice issues if do get frost.

Treacherous black ice in Inverclyde this morning. Actually quite dangerous in places.

The roads are pretty unpleasant locally this morning with thick lines of slush making overtaking the 30mph dawdlers quite a challenge...

Clearing skies and slush dnd ice already crunching up with 3c air temperature

I had the best commute of the week this morning on near enough 100% black tyre width tracks, was in the office at the right time for a change.

Temperature at home currently 4.5c and DP 0.7c, slightly cooler in Stonehaven at 3.8c but cloud cover is building so might warm up a little.

Actually a very nice day out there with some nice cloudscapes and feeling quite warm in the sun.

Temperature now 2.2c, ground snow not thawing noticeably (bar paths) but readily dripping off the roof and trees etc.

yuch - been a good one though. 

It was a shame not to see it a bit more widespread for everyone, but it was a fun hunt with some teasing at times potential, leading to a notable cold snap and what a collection of photos and reports in here and some amazing days - snow or no snow!  On to the next one is the common consensus, and couldn't agree more.... Google decided to send me a memory of March last year which was a good reminder for me that we are barely half way through our winter!

Quite pleasant out there, definitely thawing but quite slowly with only the odd drip from the roof noticeable. Dogs enjoying the snow while they can. They do like each other, honestly!

Temps up to 4.4C here and our skiff has gone apart from in shaded areas. Of course now the showers are getting through from the West

Rather horrid wet day which periodically reverted to sleet. Top temp of 2.4C with a strong nagging wind. Will be lethal if temp drops anywhere near zero.  Slow thaw continues.

Nice bright afternoon remaining  snow crunched up by 4.00pm at air temperature of 2c. Out to dentists early pm side roads and car parks still  very icy. Small hill near dentist everyone just getting stuck me just cruised up not winter tyres but all season ones since Mrs Northernlights retired  enough to give you grip on this ice.
