 Mitch the motorbike storm

May not need to go far then, just a case of watching the radar from about 10pm tonight.

Arome 06Z is a pretty decent match with the current radar imagine over France, lots of play for later but strongly suspect I won’t be seeing Poole Harbour light up tonight.

Comment noted in the "forecaster" article on the Bmth Echo, which said ""In some places, most likely over northern and eastern parts of the warning area, there is a chance that rain will be accompanied by thunderstorms and frequent lightning."

Suggesting a miss for us.

Not expecting much today but some nice attempts at towers from a few cumulus, have somewhat fallen apart the last few mins.

I'll wait for some of the later models to come out, but I don't think it's worth me staying up as of the new shift east/north. Even the UKV is agreeing now (mostly...).

Good luck to everyone chasing out tonight. Lets hope to catch some good strikes

Eagle Eye same here, very humid, summery feel ( stormy summer ) and it’s very hazy in the sky

Thunderspotter I think ima pull an all nighter, I know I have school tomorrow but my sleep schedule is so messed up that it won’t affect anything, plus exams are 2 years away. Anyways, I do hope u get something

I know all the focus is on tonight, but it looks like tomorrow has potential throughout the day for storms across the more central and northern areas of England?

I'm probably a bit too far south and west for the good stuff tonight (Worthing) but will head down to the beach to hopefully watch a show over the channel, maybe.

This set up seems par for the course:

1. Uncertainty

2. Except in France, where storms are nailed on.

Thunders It's worth it when the risks are high enough. If you miss anything you can always catch up. Out of interest what subjects do you do?

Very small but sharp shower has kicked off south of Bedford, not sure if it will produce lightning though

New and final convective Outlook should be coming soon. Ironing out the areas still. Models not really doing that well still.

Unless you're in southern/eastern Kent, I think low cloud will block most of the lightning ⚡😔

Cumulus here not to long ago as well, feels warm and a bit muggy. Turning more cloudy now though.

some instability here but is this a Spanish plume or just regular thunderstorms coming up from France?
