Only 7°C here. There is a very potent inversion overhead, boundary layer is colder than expected and it's not being mixed out by the inversion as expected. May help tomorrow with bringing possible sleet/snow down to lower level than predicted.

Cold wind and no sunshine, 8°C.  Yes, tomorrow looks awful, need to go out in it, I can't put it off, nasty if your job is an outdoors one.  Tuesday looks wet, possible squall to look out for on Weds.

Rain warned tomorrow and much the same for the rest of the coming week.  Why pick on us?   I was just starting to take an interest in reclaiming the rain trashed garden.

Is it true that it's reached 19c today in parts of Scotland. That would be crazy for January.

@Rush2019 my 7.5c must be up there with the coldest spots in the UK today then but Scotland will still be in the prime spot for any snow on offer tomorrow while we will no doubt be just the wrong side of marginal😂

there is only our region that can have a cold day when record breaking mild is on offer and be mild when a decent spell of cold and snow is about😂

Another very useable day, dry throughout and mostly cloudy, so not a bad weekend really. The temperature was a bit up on yesterday, but still felt chilly with a bit more of a breeze. Temp is still rising, currently 9.7C.

Tomorrow is looking to be a washout, but at least we have had a reasonable weekend.

9.0C now and it's the max and rising.    Been a dry day and just a light breeze.  Mostly miserably grey.    Good for gardening though.

Too cloudy for a good sunset though did glimpse a strip of golden marmalade which turned briefly to raspberry jam before the cloud curtain fell.

A decent day for late January, certainly acceptable walking weather compared to lately. Feeling much milder than yesterday thanks to little wind. No real brightness but cloud levels were quite high.

Oh dear tomorrow set to mirror a January Monday in feel. A cold wet  raw day, maxes 5 degrees, snow to modest levels possibly.

Tomorrow looks awful with a wavey weather front over the region tomorrow, most of the time amounts of rain can be underestimated so one to watch. Then the possibility of cold weather incoming

@Weather-history Are you hinting at more rain😁?

Anyway, morning all.

It was raining when I got up but I'm now in the gap before the next course.

Seems to be the offer, get 3 dry days and we'll give you a weeks rain for free.

@Weather-history Interesting programme on Ch 5 the other day about the Thames flooding tragedy of Jan 1928. With rapidly melting snow from the great Christmas snowstorm in Dec 1927 and a very wet start to Jan 1928, the flooding was hardly surprising.

Wet start to today as forecast and a dismal Monday in prospect.
