There appear to be 2 pulses of snow, so there's something for everyone!

Time for the second one to elongate and flatten out to stay more of snow too.

Just had a quick look in the Mad thread but gave up after a couple of pages of the usual suspects down south seeing something completely different in the charts that us up north.

It's pretty hard going in the MAD thread at the moment, I think they're just passing the denial phase. Just anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance to go.

 wrightc23 , are they having a meltdown for this Thursday or for 200h+? I was brave enough to have a quick look but it really is very difficult to follow the posts there right now.

I just can't get into this sort of set up for snow here, everything has to be absolutely perfect for us to see the goods produced... Would be absolutely smashing if just for once did hit the jackpot.

WRF now out to 12Z Thursday. Let's have a look what it shows Thursday morning four different locations south – north.

 

 

Worcester:

Initial light rain... followed by 4 H heavy snow... followed by 3 H ice pellets... followed by rain.

 

Shrewsbury:

8 H heavy snow... followed by 1 H ice pellets (to end of forecast).
 

Chester:

2 H light snow... followed by 5 H heavy snow (to end of forecast).

 

Wigan:

2 H light snow... followed by 3 H heavy snow (to end of forecast).

 

Lancaster:

3 H light snow (to end of forecast).

850 temps at 12Z Thursday:

Worcester: +4.2°C
Shrewsbury: +0.4°C

Chester: -2.9°C

Wigan: -4.2°C

Lancaster: -4.1°C

Carlisle: -6.7°C

Yes definitely, I viewed from afar for a number of years before joining in 2015, really good back then.

Our thread ain't bad at all though
