Nice out today isn't it?  Had a little exercise walk, it didn't feel overly cold at all, 5.5°C and refreshing, saw a chap setting up his mower to do his front grass. 😁🌞

Just patchy drizzle moving through here, higher ground likely to experience a slight dusting.

It feels much colder than 5.7 degrees, there is a dry polar feel to things.

Had thought we'd see more sunshine than so far, perhaps a sunny later afternoon.

Yorkshire loves these snow events. For some in NW could be a goodun. Not in Manc I fear. On another note, forecasters still bullish with longer term slightly cold to cold. Beeb sticking to their guns as well in monthly. When I look at their forecast for next 14 days though for Manc, what a few days ago were showing 4 to 6 max temps are now showing 8 to 10. Since when is this slightly cold to cold. All this baffles me sometimes

I can honestly see a period of decent snowfall in our area between 9am-12.

Been a kitchen sink job here today. Had snow first, then rain and then hail. All very light and only the thinest of coverings on the fells. Not expecting much to come from tomorrow, I think anything decent will be south of and higher than here.

Looks good for those further east and with elevation.  Rain/Sleety mix for those further West, with the E wind killing most of the precipitation for those of us in the shadow i'd expect.

Enjoy if you get some snow.

alot of forecasts moving back to a position of sleet this afternoon from a number of morning upgrades for Wirral, Heswall still holding out to be snowy, given it has a slight elevation.  Im hoping this is just an automated update, rather than actual forecast.

Unusually, I looked at the national and local forecasts for tomorrow on the lunchtime BBC News. It seems I might have been premature in suggesting a washout rather than a whiteout in this part of the region. OK, nothing lasting on the ground, but mild air from the S/SW meeting the cold air from the north may result in some snow in the early hours, even here in lowland South Cheshire. I think it will be a matter of peeping through the curtains before dawn tomorrow and seeing what if anything has fallen from the sky and whether it's white and settling or wet and a damn nuisance. It could be an interesting rush hour ahead tomorrow morning.

Even the Heswall forecast has downgraded a little.

Even though saying this kind of setup is our best, I've changed my view on that slightly. Our best setups involve a big blocking high to the northeast, low pushing in from the southwest creating a raw south easterly. We don't have that, so that's why I think it is far more knife edge and favoring elevation more so.

I still think a period of snow is on the cards say 9-12 but I can't see totals being much above 2cm on the Wirral if that.

Can’t say I’ll see anything other than sleet/cold rain though I’m supposed to be driving to Scotland on Friday morning  as high routes could be problematic

Still not feeling it tomorrow here. Definitely a shield in effect, damn Pennines, so just gonna get on with my day. I'll be chuffed for you guys who get the white stuff though. We all deserve a bit of happiness.
