Is any of this thundery, it's pretty muggy for what the sensor says is 18C.

summer blizzard Looking at the radar there is some activity just to the west of Bradford, and on Facebook there are reports of funnel clouds

Yes, here in BD19 we've seen thunder, lightening and a degree of hail although mostly rain.

Decent thunderstorm just gone. 25mm rain the last 30 minutes and still coming down. Looks to be building on the back edge. Given the average is 43mm then chances are i could record another above average month!

39mm of rain now with total for 41mm so far this month. So looks like another above average month!

Well what a difference a day makes. After 2 nice days it came in misty last night quite suddendly. Woke this morning to sea fret, foggy and grey, 9C with a northerly wind. At least I managed to fill the second wood store and get the grass cut whilst dry and fine and before the next 'monsoon'

Mrs FLT said that it rained a bit at Whitby during the night which rather surprised me. A pleasant enough day today on the North Yorkshire moors and coast although none too warm. I thought the mist was going to roll in on the coast this evening but not so far. Forecast for the next few days looks good and I rather regret that it is only a whistle stop visit to NY this time. 'I'll be back!'

A Face like Thunder cloudy morning that cleared mid afternoon with bright sunshine, but a nagging breeze capped temps a tad, misty night again.

Plenty of sunshine yesterday, some cloud at times but very acceptable weather now, happy to be in the garden again. Nice evening on the top too.

Two decent days on the trot. Light winds and mostly sunny. Much better for my lunchtime bike rides.

Today was a strange one, wind settled to calm and switched 180 deg while out. I set off with Force 2 W winds, and came back about 50 mins later with force 2 E winds. I assume it was a 'sea breeze' establishing itself. One side effect is temperatures, lunchtime it was about 18C, now pegged back to about 15C, but still very nice. I am now waiting for the other shoe to drop...

Hopefully it will remain fine over the weekend as its 'Race the Waves' weekend in Bridlington, cars taking part were starting to marshall at Burton Fleming and make their way to Bridlington, saw (and heard) two whilst out on my bike.

Above photos of the aurora are wonderful thank you  😃
I too was thrilled to see the Lights last night.
Luckily chose to get out of bed at 11pm for a look and couldn't
believe my eyes.  Huge beams of milky white, pale green and pink
radiating from high in the sky right to the horizons.
I've wanted all my life to see this.  Thank the Gods for clear skies and
a crescent moon.
Relished it for nearly two hours.
Took photos on my little camera on a tripod,  but they are very poor indeed.
Maybe another chance tonight, but I spy coastal cloud on the forecast.
Cheers.

Watched for about 2 hours last night, til the batteries died in all senses…..best ones of the night were around midnight. Taken just from my garden and then roof.

Saw ben all last night I reckon I slept through it and by the time I did stir I missed the best bit and anything left was drowned by light pollution and haze.
