Surprised there's no yellow for wind in the central belt tonight. Seems to be quite isolated to just central Scotland with gusts quite frequently in the 45-55mph range. We've had a yellow warning for lower wind speeds already this year.

I admire the optimism of the weather station, not a chance of snow in reality.

Steady moderate rain and ground saturated once more.

This wind at the moment really blowy. Guess it's not gonna calm down to this rain starts fully pushing south (when we have had the rain at times it's been vile)! Dread to think how much they've had in the highlands (so far) looks as if they been hammered

What a horrid morning again!!! Local roads with a lot of flooding this morning in way to work. Don’t realise rain had been so heavy last night!! Miserable, dull wet day in Aberdoom with the local rags sporting 200mile snow blankets on there way 🤣🤣

Is there any prospect of lower level snow for the central belt later in the week?

Well the A66 could have its moments, but is likely to get shut if things get interesting! An alternative is to go via the M6 but take a diversion via Kendal then over the original Shap Summit on the A6 - its about a 100ft lower than the top of the A66 is but is less likely to get shut.

Had some good fun in an EV with winter tyres slaloming around stuck and slithering things on the S3 bits either side of Shap Summit in mid January! Eventually had to get out and push a pair of BMWs that had completely blocked the road!

I’ve had a peak at the models glad I never bothered before now 😂 England snow event not Scotland Thursday Friday and I think the rest of any chance of cold has went bust also

Aye think any chance of lying snow for any length of time has gone for us in the lowlands, hopefully the highlands can get some for our ski resorts before winters end.

Had ridiculously wet conditions with two days nonstop rain. My father telling me that the river Nairn reached higher levels than its 1997 record. Was delighted to see showers coming in first thing were of heavy snow, with a very small covering down to around 200m thus far

Much better start to the day at 2c with a ground frost.    Strong NW wind driving in snow showers across the Firth towards us

Just as ECM and the Met drop any notion of snow here the GFS is back with this nonsense 🤣😂

Cold, sunny, dry and very breezy here this morning and no rain in the forecast so all good. A much better outlook than recent deluges and murk.

The only light on this morning is the lamp over my desk, the snowdrops are in full bloom here and a few winter aconites just up the road. I must get the oily wash on the fruit trees asap too, there hasn't been enough dry weather so far this winter.

Crikey. I really spoke to soon - there's a really lively shower coming through just now...

Current shower is thick splatty sleet. 2.5C and dropping.

With a fair bit of snow mixed in as the shower fades away...
