  1. even the 3 months of winter is too long for me
  2. Has Richard ever posted anything positive lol, he makes me laugh though
  3. isnt it just mushy , cant believe there is a good proportion on here who hate this stuff, and the spring/summer in general,,,,does not compute with me, although I do like my occasional extremes as long as its not the cold type , and I like my thunderstorms and heavy rain events , not that we get many!
  4. just seen one flash to my north , around preston way probably
  5. you know spring weather is imminent when frosty gets on the other bus
  6. Spot on, April especially is the month that, depending upon the synoptics, can deliver full on mid summer type conditions , or throw you back to mid winter type conditions
  7. yup, no ramping at high pressure in march from me either, i would rather save our quota of high pressures until later when the sun can burn off the muck, and less risk of overnight frost
  8. I think we will use this as the target time and place
  9. I just couldn't resist, its that time again I think well into April for me, but quite likely in march for some if some of the FI charts come off, dare to punt at any specific date?
  10. 5c overcast very dull , stagnent conditions again with no wind, poor visibility
  11. nothing at all on the ground here either, just wet surface, surprising what a few miles can do
  12. turned back to rain here now lol not stuck at all, was that the ration for this winter here ?
  13. moderate rain here, as i said, always the last to get snow here, if it even turns to snow at all , even sleet is hard to get here
  14. ''dont get the sledges out...... just yet''
  15. but we are told we now have a warming climate which we didnt have over those centuries
  16. just been watching britains wildest weather on ch4, it was more like a propaganda show for global warming and climate change, and the seas 4c warmer than normal? really , what tosh or did they mean degrees F
  17. , take it you hate it more than me , to be honest i am probably a 1 or 2 , I just like one huge blizzard per year that will last a few hours , be accompanied with a gale , drifting, and of course some thunder, all for the spectacle of it...... as long as it clears away again the next day and does not refreeze and i can see the green and pleasant land again I also like snow events that turn back to rain, quite satisfying
  18. A big fat 0 thank god its rare especially here in this town, I love our climate for that reason, just need more thunderstorms if the climate turned snowy, i would emigrate, without any doubt
  19. another reason why i hate this time of year, having the heating on makes my lips crack and dry out for weeks on end , its very unpleasant, might invest in a humidifier , cant wait for spring and to open the windows to let fresh natural air circulate round the house without loosing £££££££ in heating costs
  20. that explains it scott, but it was about 1.30ish, indicated by the pink crosses, must have been a bit more later in the night (blue crosses) is there a link to that detector
  21. sure i heard thunder as i woke up briefly during the early hours, sure it was not the wind, sounded more distant and grumbly, any sferics over this area last night ?
  22. remember when the press got hold of the term ''polar vortex ' and took it out of context and tried to scare people to death with it now its the term 'weather bomb' they have got hold of, oh they will love this one,
  23. Who the hell said this , IDIOTS. completely different type of event, a dec2010 would have many of the coldies on here hyperventilating with excitement, my god these idiots know nothing
  24. few flashes seen this morning on way into work in st helens, died off as came overhead
