  1. couple of sporadic faint flashes visible from here from the north wales stuff
  2. not expecting anything here in thunderproof NW england , trying to use reverse psychology but it I know it wont work anyway
  3. I can see some convection over the Irish sea coast against the dusk sky, wonder if it will give the odd flash. southern england has done well for storms this year, we have a slight chance of something thundery over the next couple of days, although today was forcast for a chance of thunder, nothing happened, so not expecting anything for the next few days apart from periods of heavy rain at times , the thunder drought continues,
  4. chance of the odd thundery showers this week along western coasts ?
  5. Same here as long as there are at least some vigorous storms from the atlantic too, but as far as ice and deep cold goes I can cope for a week or two in january just to kill the insects, then I want it banished again
  6. Apart from two decent storms here, there has been nothing else this year, we usually get a collection of half hearted thundery showers as well as a couple of crackers. The frequency of thunder days in this area seems to be declining year on year , yet the central/southern England has had a good year overall, ah well at least two decent storms is better than nothing, I am waiting for that year where the yearly thunder count becomes zero, its gonna happen soon at this rate
  7. wasting your time, they dont care if its right or wrong, they do it because they know joe public are gullable and will read this stuff and believe, so they get more sales and therefore more £££££££££
  8. sunny and bright blue sky here now after the showers have passed still blustery and not warm enough to sit out in a t shirt due to the cold wind, sun feels warm if you are sheltered
  9. I have never seen thunder snow here in 30 odd years
  10. awful dire boring weather today, just cool, cloudy, some drizzle in the air, a taste of things to come, YAWN
  11. thunder is rare here, snow is very rare here thunder snow.... non existant, I think I can forget that one
  12. was right under that, the only decent overhead one this year, reminded me of the good storm years in the 80's and 90's, I forgot what a powerful sound close CG's can give until that one again
  13. last year gave a couple of good ones in early october, but that was possibly due to high SST and sudden lowering heights with cold uppers , I cant see this autumn giving good storms , I feel the warmth in the irish sea will slowly and quietly leak away this autumn , rather than give fireworks, So i reckon your right, game over for this year,
  14. can only hope it moves towards here lol somehow I very very much doubt it,
  15. this year so far has been just as poor as the last few years, the NW has never been a hotspot but it was always better a decade a two ago during spring and summer, 6 or 7 decent overhead days would be the normal count , last few years its been one or two
  16. Wow what a fantastic day of storms,,,,,,no not here of course ! , for the usual areas The NW is the most boring storm starved part of England, this year confirms this fact more than ever, its really beginning to annoy me, The Manchester area has done particularly badly in what I though might be a better year with higher SST's We need a direct warm southerly plume here for a chance of proper storms, those showers that come over in autumn and early winter from a north westerly off the irish sea are not good enough , you might get a clap from them if you are lucky
  17. wasn't november last year slighty below average, a blip, the following months continued the above trend, could august be another blip, or is this the start of a cold period like the run up to dec2010
  18. It probably does not want to move east , it want s stay around just to annoy us, really though, how it came barreling across from north america at breakneck speed as though it could not get here fast enough , then set up shop in an unfavourable postion and hang around like a bad fart,
  19. I dont think its been dull in the lack of sunshine its been fairly sunny , but despite the usual areas.... ie central/ southern eastern parts getting a decent thundery year, here in the good old NW its been rubbish, just two notable overhead storms this year, and a few days of odd distant rumbles. Another disappointing year , August usually delivers, but I feel the cool NWesterly setting in will quell chances, Never mind, October was the best month last year for storms
  20. large towers and anvils to my south east ,dark bases, looking at them you would be convinced they are of thundery nature, but it seems they are not , looks like thundery stuff does not like the north west, meanwhile in the usual places......
  21. a little more action here now, gusty squally like shower passing , surprised it has not give a clap or two, but alas not
  22. its always about the east isnt it , anyway, blue sky breaking through to my south, come on weather god, you know you can do it, might well make it a sunny day again if you are not going to give anything of interest just so I can sit out again in the garden with tea and cake, looking good kettles on
