    0.2c.....tremendously icy after a very wet day with rain,sleet and snow....nothing on the ground but a lot of standing water and ice.

    Most of the day has seen rain/sleet/snow leaving a lot of standing water and with a perfectly timed cloud clear at dusk it is now freezing fast.... it is really quite treacherous. I am interested ,who still has snow on the ground?There is nowt where I am.

    Stopped here.What covering was on the roads has turned slushy and all in all a pretty crappy event.Im surprised by the amounts in crewe.

    Starting to cover the ground proper now...I get a pre covering giddy feeling though intellectualy i know this really is not going to ammount to much asit would seem this is the end of the band of precipitation.

    It is just starting to settle proper now after a fair few hours of snow.....big fat wet snow flakes

    February 2012 was last time I saw any snow in my area.

    It is so wet,so so wet.Currently 12c outside and actually warmer outside than inside my bathroom;there is condensation on the outside of the window.

    I know what the poster was hinting at ,I was just questioning the logic.Yes ,things can only get better if you are wanting snow ,it has been quite rare so fr,certainly where I am.

    A bit of sleety rain so far though higher parts of Manchester I am sure will have had some . I am told that this morning there was some light stuff t lower levels.

    Heavy hail,sleet mix here,turning colder.Precipitation is turning more wintry.

    -4 C air temp minimum this morning ,very frosty with cloud arriving around dawn.Currently it is raining with a sleety component and has been doing so since about mid day ,current temperature 4c.
