Wednesday 9th November weather observations
DeepSnow replied to Summer Sun's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Its been a wet morning with plenty of heavy showers but some brighter spells now. Temp 13.2c DP 10.2C Rain total today: 10.69mm Wind 2-7mph gusting 15mph -
Well, if you do settle on a place for it then I'd say it should definitely go on your Christmas last lol. Yes it will be interesting, im certainly enjoying it already and being able to view it from work, im looking forward to a good storm! Im in a bit of a dip with the houses around me higher up, so quite sheltered but there are 2 stations on Wunderground within a mile of mine, so i will be curious to see their results compared to mine aswell!
-
Thanks! This was my thinking with them suppose to be seperate, compared to all being in one. Suppose its done for convince for home weather stations as apposed to professional ones though? Surprisingly it is only between 0.5C-1C warmer than my old one in the shade and 2 other stations near by me on Wunderground, so im pretty pleased so far, plus my garden can be a bit of more of a heat trap so its possibly fairly close to the actual. I think in terms of money, for £184 down from £259 it is definately one of the best in the price range. Just need a good wind storm to test it out now lol. I have set it up on Wunderground Personal Weather Station Dashboard | Weather Underground WWW.WUNDERGROUND.COM Weather Underground provides local & long-range weather forecasts, weather reports, maps & tropical weather conditions for locations worldwide. /Assets/Images/logo-global.png Met Office WOW - WOW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK The UK Met Office Weather Observation Website (WOW). WOW allows anyone to submit their own weather data, anywhere in the world. I've connected it to those two

So i got my new Ecowitt HP2551 station but unlike my previous ones, this is a 7 in 1 sensor array thats on top of a pole attached to the fence. The thermometer, which is attached to the main arm on top is suppose to be in full sunlight, unlike previous ones I've had that are suppose to be shaded. Just wondering if anyone else has had one like it where the thermometer is suppose to be in the sun and if it alters the reading too much? Mine currently says 12.3C whereas my old on in the shade says 11.4C, so not sure if being in the sun will affect its accuracy much? It had really good reviews so happy overall with it, just curious about the temp.

Just ordered my new Ecowitt HP2551 station on Amazon, be good to finally have a functional station again to get readings from and report with! Been a windy few days and some very heavy rain, cool too. Im not going to complain that its not cold yet or anytime soon as rather use the heating as little as possible for now lol.

I've seen one or two reports of a tornado in London? Anyone comfirm this? Enjoy the storms, not jealous at all! Lol -
Have you turned your heating on yet?
DeepSnow replied to stewfox's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
We put our heating on on Wednesday for a short time as we had been on holiday. We are on a prepayment meter, which is a pain going to the shop to keep topping it up. We are deciding on whather to get a standard gas meter put in and go on direct debit but just don't know what to do with the prices. -
Winter 2022-23 early thoughts - general chat
DeepSnow replied to Blessed Weather's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Whilst I have no clue on what this winter may bring, I do hope for one decent snowfall. I've not had more than an inch on snow since 2018. Last 2 winters I've not even had an inch of snow, they have been snowless down here by the coast bar the odd flurry. I will take a mild winter to please most with energy bills, but would like just one week long cold snap with lots of snow! -
Yes i did hear the other islands had it worse that Gran Canaria, wasn't expecting it as didn't think Hermine was going to get that close to us. We were suppose to fly home Monday but the flight was cancelled, apparently a lot across the canaries got cancelled over the weekend so you were lucky!
-
My last day in Gran Canaria today, we had an aweful lot of rain yesterday, constant and heavy with some flooding, a short lived thunderstorm last night and very windy now today.
-
Hermine is producing a lot of rain here in the Canaries despite not being over us, red warnings out for 100-150mm of rain today.
-
Is there a tropical depression close to the Canaries? I've seen a few forecasts now saying where I am on holiday in Grand Canaria is suppose to get some torrential rain and storms over the weekend associated with a tropical wave/depression?

DeepSnow replied to Seasonal Trim's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Well im off to Grand Canaria for 2 weeks today for a friends wedding, whilst im not a heat person it should be lovely out there with highs of 27-29C. Hopefully when I get back on 27th things will be looking very nicely autumnal for us as I do love the autumn weather and decent into winter! -

Moderate rain with big drops, very dark skies that look like they want to go bang, but sadly its not -

Shame the storm over the SW is dying out before getting to South Wales, knowing my luck we will get a storm here when I'm working 12 miles away and I'll miss it -
I cannot say how happy I am for it to be cool outside, cloudy and picking with rain. Feeling comfortable again now and should stay like it all week. Hopefully any further heatwaves will have less intensity to them and 'only' be in the hugh 20s making them more manageable!

Im hoping for something today or tomorrow but feeling it might be unlikely here - showing rain on the radar here but nothing is falling. -
Still 32.2C and the house is 29c but for some reason much more humid inside, which feels horrendous. My poor cats aren't coping well bless them. I'll be off to work soon for 7pm until 10am tomorrow in my care service, not looking forward to a night there. Roll on tomorrow and the 23c it's suppose to be here!
-
Still 31.4C here at 7:30pm, which is absolutely ridiculous for South Wales. Driving about in the heat and the landscape so brown and dusty, it has felt like being somewhere in the Mediterranean the last few days. I think come winter I will be investing in getting a A/C unit, can't be dealing with these heatwaves multiple times a year.
